A Catch Up With The Bridal Showroom, Dubai
It has been a while since we caught up with our BCME wedding attire vendors The Bridal Showroom, who have witnessed some major changes since their ‘Get to Know the Wedding Pro’ interview three years ago. We therefore thought it was time for a chat with owner Diala Abu Issa, to find out what’s been happening at the JLT-based boutique since we last spoke.
Read on to find out about The Bridal Showroom’s new designers and collections, and learn about how they keep up with the latest trends in bridal fashion. Enjoy!
How has the boutique changed over the last three years?
There have been some major changes at The Bridal Showroom over the last three years. Firstly, we carry new designers such as Hayley Paige and Anne Barge. We are so excited to have them on board! Secondly, we had a major rebranding, from our logo to our website, and we also upgraded our store. It has a very fresh minimalistic yet fun feel. Thirdly, we have now added a new alteration service to brides who bought their dresses from another boutique. Our tailors are specialised in bridal alteration and we understand the importance of any bride wanting to alter her dress with us. We previously had such a high demand for this service that we introduced it last month. Finally, we partnered with Belles by Raquel headpieces as their exclusive retailer in Dubai. She also customises a lot of our brides’ headpieces.
What are some of your new favourite collections?
I am personally in love with Hayley Paige. Her dresses are modern and fun, and her style really stands out. Another designer I love is Anne Barge. Her designs are very clean cut yet classical, and her fits are just amazing.
Tell us about the range of accessories that The Bridal Showroom stocks
We have an amazing veil selection which brides just fall in love with. We also carry headpieces, from back pieces to tiaras and combs, in addition to our recent partnership with Belles by Raquel for custom headpieces, as mentioned above.
What are you most looking forward to in 2017? Any particular trends?
2017 is going to be all about the shoulders; I love the off shoulder and bold shoulder designs for this coming season. Of course, this does not mean that we should forget about long sleeves as well, which are still very much on trend. Tea-length is also strong this coming season and definitely a look to consider for a garden or beach wedding
How does The Bridal Showroom keep up with the changing demands of brides-to-be?
We are extremely hands on when it comes to listening to our brides. We take notes and act upon them. We also travel extensively during the year to attend shows and bridal related seminars and workshops to remain up-to-date with the industry. We have amazing relationships with wedding experts whom we meet with regularly to discuss the bridal industry in general.
How do you ensure that you retain trust and popularity within the UAE’s booming wedding industry?
We care about our brides. We care about what they think about us and we care about how we make them feel. They are our brand ambassadors and we WANT to make them happy. Word of mouth has been our strongest means of gaining popularity in the UAE. So many brides wanting to get married in the UAE have been touched by The Bridal Showroom, and we pride ourselves on this.
How does The Bridal Showroom stay relevant when it comes to trends, yet also remain timeless to appeal to classic brides?
Each designer we carry has a specific added value to the entire collection. We have some designers we carry who are extremely modern which appeal to the very trendy, out-of-the-box bride. Other designers are more classical, catering to the more timeless bride. We have some designers who are classical with a modern twist as well.
Have you had any personal highlights over the last three years?
I had a baby boy, a brother to my lovely daughter. They are definitely a handful and I love it! Otherwise, its been ‘all about that Bride, about that Bride, about that Bride’.
