A Grace Kelly-Inspired Styled Shoot in Cannes
Coming all the way from Cannes in the South of France, today’s post takes us back to the era of the classics. Inspired by film icon and former princess of Monaco Grace Kelly, this shoot exudes class and sophistication.
Featuring gorgeous gowns by Elie Saab and Vera Wang and stunning views, the shoot is packed full of ‘pretty’. Photographer Nora Mancini hopes these images will inspire UAE based destination brides to consider marrying in the French Riviera, and I’m sure you’ll agree, the beautiful photos make it look very tempting indeed! Enjoy!
A Note from the Photographer
For this photoshoot at the InterContinental Carlton in Cannes, my aim was to create a very classic and elegant atmosphere. The shoot took place at the end of May 2014 and I wanted to inspire brides to get married by the sea, at this luxurious and iconic hotel. Located in the centre of La Croisette and listed by the French government as a national historic building, the InterContinental Carlton is a popular choice for those looking for first class accommodation during the Cannes Film Festival and many celebrities have stayed there over the years.
At around the same time as our photoshoot, the movie Grace of Monaco was coming out and we thought it would be a great idea if someone as famous and iconic as Grace Kelly inspired the shoot. She seemed to reflect the bride perfectly and I tried to portray her sense of class, sophistication and elegance throughout the shoot.
I was hoping to inspire brides from faraway to come and organise a luxurious wedding by the Mediterranean Sea and what place is more famous than the French Riviera? Anyone fancy a royal wedding?
The first dress is very similar to the dress worn by Grace Kelly on her wedding day. The second dress is by Elie Saab, and conjures up an image of a traditional Grace with a modern twist. And the third gown, is a magnificent number from Vera Wang.
The calligraphy on the invitation cards is the same as that used on Grace Kelly’s wedding cards in 1956. The tabletops are very classic – white in colour with just a touch of gold/brown.
The views from the hotel are magnificent and I can imagine that many brides around the world must dream of a wedding like this.
