DIY Tear Drop Headpiece
If you’re a petite woman like me, the thought of wearing a full veil or headdress on your wedding day may seem overwhelming. Indeed it can also photograph badly on a petite woman and you don’t want your wedding photos forever filled with a veil that overshadows you.
THE DIY
Here’s a great, quick alternative which takes around 45 mins to make.
What you’ll need:
- Teardrop millinery base
- Needle and thread,
- Pearl beads
- Gauze or tulle fabric
- Clear slide comb.
Step 1: Cut a piece of the mesh fabric as shown in the picture.
Step 2: Fold the fabric in half.
Step 4: Weave the needle over and under the fabric with stitches about half a centimetre apart.
Step 5: Pull the fabric together along the thread to form a frill.
Step 6: Stitch the frill onto the teardrop base in a way you like and embellish with pearl beads.
Step 7: Buy a clear slide comb and attach to the base for you to wear.
I hope you enjoy making this. If it’s not your style, it may work for the mother of the bride also as it’s quite understated.
