A Catch Up With Lizelle Goussard Photography
Today we catch up with a BCME favourite, who has collaborated with us on styled shoots, has had many real weddings featured on the site and was also our Assistant Editor Rachael’s wedding photographer! Lizelle Goussard has continuously wowed us with her beautiful, dreamy images, so we felt that we were long overdue a chat to find out what she has been up to.
Turns out, Liz has been rather busy! She now has a daughter, has moved to Cape Town, AND has rebranded her fabulous photography business. Fear not, Dubai brides-to-be, Liz will still be shooting weddings in Dubai as well. Read on to find out more about the exciting new direction that Liz’s business is heading in…
It’s been a while since we spoke to you Liz, tell us what you’ve been up to…
Loads actually! I have been really hard at work being a Mommy to my little girl, Eva, who is now 1 year and 4 months old and a bundle of energy! We have also recently relocated to Cape Town, South Africa. It was the toughest move ever, moving globally with a toddler – I don’t want to do that again anytime soon! We most definitely have been enjoying the cooler weather over here, but I am totally missing Dubai’s shopping! I have also rebranded by entire business and it’s a decision I don’t regret at all.
What made you decided to rebrand?
I have evolved as a person and as a business, so the old branding just didn’t resonate anymore. My style of photography has changed over the years; I’ve started dabbling in the timeless art of film photography, for example, and with the move to South Africa, I thought it was the perfect time for a change and a fresh start.
Tell us about the new branding…it’s so pretty! What made you go for this particular look?
I really wanted to embrace the direction my business is taking and opted for a hand written calligraphy logo that was finished off with a touch of grey water paint. I feel it’s really elegant and timeless and represents my imagery better.
What direction do you see the business taking?
I am striving to deliver a bespoke experience to my clients. I want to create personal relationships with all my brides so that I can give them all my heart, time and creativity. I want to have the chance to get to know YOU and your story. My style combines documentary, editorial and fine art photography to bring together all the beautiful aspects of your wedding in images that are filled with beautiful light and infused with romance.
Are you still available for brides-to-be in Dubai who would like to book you for their wedding?
Yes, I am indeed still available. I am capturing weddings in Dubai this December and in March 2018. If you are a bride whose heart beats for creativity, who cherishes detail and has a desire to have your wedding captured by someone who invests all of their emotions into your wedding, I would love to hear from you.
What exciting projects have you been involved with recently?
I have a beautiful wedding editorial, shot on film and digital, which will soon be featured on Grey Likes, which I’m really excited about! I’ve also been busy with marketing over here in South Africa, and can’t wait to start working with some of the fabulous creatives Cape Town has on offer.
What are you most looking forward to in the near future?
At the moment I am most excited to travel to Dubai this December and in March next year to capture a wedding at Magnolia, Al Qasr, which is one of my all time favourite venues in Dubai because it is sooooo pretty. Right now, however, I can’t wait for summer to start over here in Cape Town, as my toes and fingers are frozen!
