Top wedding Apps for engaged couples
A wedding is meant to be one of the happiest days of our lives, but before the big event arrives there is a lot of planning that needs to be taken care of. Mobile apps for engaged couples are a great way to reach the big day in one ‘sane’ piece. Here are some of the best in my opinion.
This Creative Key developed app helps to organise all parts of the wedding, from appointments in the build up, to the food on the day. Users can share information with guests via the MarryMe website. The app has a budget planner, a table planner and a guest list with meal choices. There are also practical guides based on real life experience.
2. Wedding Happy:
Wedding Happy – Wedding Planner, is really simple to get up and running (no need to input your email ID) and after you enter your wedding date it builds a customised ‘to-do’ list for your reference, with a dashboard overview available at all times. The useful ‘Export & Email’ feature lets you send your schedule and vendor information to the key people who need to know. The app also has Facebook and Twitter integration.
There is no minefield quite like a wedding. Add to that the top table planner, which relegates ninety percent of the guests to extras, and you have a potential war. With this app you can draw a plan of the wedding venue and even the style of table. Then you simply drag and drop your guests (not literally). Add guests and hey presto, or you could buy a notepad and a pen. Your choice.
Skyrocketing costs are often a major feature of the happy day but with Wedding Budget List they don’t have to be. The WS Publishing Group app breaks down various costs into different categories, such as attire, music and the reception, making it easier to keep control of the budget. There is also a customisable seating plan and guest list, with the option to share information with those invited. The wedding countdown lets you know how closely the big day looms.
5. Tie the Knot app:
Developed by Two Coast Ventures. Tie the Knot app is a unique and modern way to keep on top of the various aspects of wedding planning. Once registered, users are able to create their own app and website, which guests can download and visit for up to date information. The wedding blog feature allows couples to write about how their planning is going.
6. Spotify:
What is more important at a wedding than music? Imagine if you could have every band in the world playing at your wedding and you have Spotify. Create special playlists and even have a tune for when crazy uncle George gets up to dance. There is unfortunately no app to stop him getting up to dance. Discover new tracks suggested to you from your current favourites and add your own songs.
7. iWedding Deluxe:
Serendipity App Company’s iWedding Deluxe is a handy app for bringing together the disparate parts of the big day. Users can compile a guest list using the integrated contacts on their device, and keep a note of meal choices and gifts. There is a checklist for general items and another for scheduled events, such as dress fittings. The app has featured ideas to help inspire the happy couple, while the budget tool comes with a list of average costs to give an idea of prices.
Lastly, you could also try using Instagram and Pinterest to source inspirational images. Use Pinterest to find inspiration and share it with others. Find ideas for wedding cakes or dress design and save your ideas in one place. For Instagram, you can ask your guests to #yourwedding when taking images, compiling lots of stylish, candid shots under one roof.
These are just a few of the apps out there that can help you plan your wedding. What are your favourite wedding apps? Share them with us in the comments below.
