Bridal shoes in the UAE
This week, we’re bringing you some fantastic advice regarding choosing your bridal shoes, which are a crucial part of your overall look but often not given enough consideration in the lead up to your wedding day. Not only will we be revealing some of the best places in the UAE to buy your shoes, but we’ve also spoken to the experts themselves to give you some helpful pointers that your feet will thank you for.
Shoes are important not only as a fashion accessory, but also because they can change your whole appearance; nobody wants to spend their wedding day struggling to walk or being in pain. Below, three of our amazing BCME vendor club members, who supply fabulous bridal shoes in the UAE, give their top tips for choosing shoes that you will absolutely adore.
The Bridal Showroom – JLT and Galeries Lafayette, Dubai Mall, (+971) (0)4 579 4012, www.dubaibridalshowroom.com.
We love the Bridal Showroom, not only because of its wide range of dresses, but also because it stocks beautiful bridal shoes by Spanish design house Rosa Clará. The Bridal Showroom offers these tips for brides who are searching for the perfect shoes for their wedding day:
♡ Remember that you will be wearing your wedding shoes all day, and that you will spend a lot of time on your feet; not only for the ceremony itself, but when greeting guests, posing for photographs and dancing the night away. Make sure your shoes are comfortable.
♡ Shoes should be purchased before your first dress fitting, so that the seamstress can hem the dress accordingly. Shoes often have to be ordered, just as the dress does, so be sure not to leave buying them until the last minute.
♡ Ivory comes in so many shades. Take a fabric swatch of your dress with you when buying your shoes to ensure that the colour of your dress matches the colour of your shoes.
Sponsa – Al Taawn Road, Sharjah, UAE, www.Sponsabridal.com.
This beautiful boutique is now adding bridal shoes to its already stunning range, which increases the options for UAE brides to be. Sponsa’s three top tips for choosing your dream shoes are:
♡ First and foremost, choose a bridal shoe that suits your personal style. If you don’t usually wear high heels, your wedding day is not the time to start.
♡ Think about a peep toe heel to ensure that your toes are not crammed into your shoes.
♡ Have a foot massage prior to the wedding and make sure you stay hydrated to reduce the risk of your feet swelling on the day. Have some stylish flats on hand that work well with your bridal gown if you wish to dance in something more comfortable!
Vanila Wedding Boutique – Cluster N, JBC 4, Ground Level, Al Sarayat St, Dubai, (+971) (0)50 785 8383, www.vanilastudio.ae.
Founded in Russia, this boutique is new to Dubai and offers a range of gorgeous bridal shoes. The boutiques shoe designer Dyos, originally specialised in dancing shoes, meaning that they are incredibly comfortable as well as pretty! Vanila gives this advice when selecting your shoes:
♡ Your shoes should compliment your dress. For example, any pearls or sparkles on your dress could also be a detail on your shoes. On the other hand, you may have your heart set on coloured shoes, which can add an interesting dimension to your overall look. Just be sure that there are other accessories or elements of the groom’s style that will compliment this colour.
♡ It’s important to try shoes on later in the day, as this is when feet swell. Try walking in them for at least five minutes before purchasing them, and wear the shoes for an hour every day in the two weeks before the wedding to break them in and reduce the possibility of blisters.
♡ Always consider where your wedding is being held. For example, an outside lawn or beach wedding is best suited to sandals or flats, as heels will be difficult to walk in. Alternatively, invest in some heel stoppers.
Level Shoe District – The Dubai Mall, Ground Floor, Downtown Dubai, (+971) (0)4 501 6888, www.levelshoedistrict.com.
With its bridal collection launched in March this year, Level Shoe District offers another new option for brides to be. Featuring twenty exclusive styles by eight different designers such as Gianvito Rossi and Nicholas Kirkwood, the collection offers “a shoe for every bride”, with sophistication, comfort and personality being the main priorities. Make an appointment for a luxurious and customised experience, including a complimentary foot massage and afternoon tea!
Your bridal shoes are an investment not only for the big day itself, but also for after the wedding, because unlike your dress, shoes are much easier to wear again and again for other occasions. By following these tips for both comfort and style, you’ll be sure to find something that you’ll enjoy wearing long after the last guest has left.
Happy shopping!
