Today is the day! We ‘ve been dying to share this utterly breath-taking event with you all and we’re finally getting our chance. Nestled amongst the scenic mountain views of Hatta, this intimate renewal of vows/10th anniversary celebration was filled with sentiment and deep meaning for the beautiful couple, Ash Young and her husband Chris, along with their three children, who participated with heart-warming readings and speeches.
The décor, coordinated and designed by local talent Liesel of Rock Your Wedding, featured wild florals with earthy pops of colour; maroon, orange and yellow hues, sandy pampas and a show-stopping ethereal dip-dyed skirt worn by the bride and designed by a local favourite, House of Moirai. Below, Italian photographer Serena Genovese shares her thoughts on capturing the special day and the (once again) blushing bride, relays her thoughts on celebrating her wedding anniversary in such a special way. Enjoy!
A Note From The Bride
I’m an enthusiastic celebrator of life’s events! I love birthdays, Halloween and Christmas, so when our 10th Wedding Anniversary approached, there was no way I was going to miss the opportunity of gathering our friends and family to celebrate!
We wanted a beautiful, intimate and informal ceremony surrounded by nature. With the help of our celebrant, Kerrie, and event planner, Liesel, that’s exactly what we achieved. The simple seating and breath-taking flower arch, framed by the stunning Hatta mountains, was everything I’d hoped for.
It was important to us for our children to play a part in the ceremony and their readings and speeches were amongst my favourite moments of the day. Our wedding day 10 years ago was about Chris and me as a couple, while our anniversary ceremony was about the family we have become.
My outfit was custom made by House of Moirai Bridal and the dip-dyed silk skirt is the most favourite thing I’ve ever worn. I designed my own footwear online at Shoenvious and they were an amazing match for the dress, whilst also (and importantly) extremely comfortable, even while walking around the wadi for photos!
We found our incredible photographer, Serena, via Bride Club ME for which I will always be grateful because she did the most perfect job of immortalising such a meaningful day!
A Note From The Photographer
Ash contacted me via the Bride Club ME concierge and as soon as I heard their story over a phone call, my heart skipped a beat. When they told me the story of how they wished to celebrate their milestone anniversary and renewal of vows in such a special way, I just knew they were the perfect couple for me. I fell in love with them as a couple straight away.
Their location of choice, Hatta, was AWESOME and a photographer’s dream. Their ceremony was intimate and cosy, consisting of a few nearest and dearest. I was thrilled to be shooting their special day. I met their three gorgeous children on the day itself and I had a few minutes alone with the happy couple and their kids to take some pictures and warm up to their individual personalities, making sure I captured each quirk and glimmer throughout the day. Immediately, I saw the inner beauty in their eyes. To me, they were truly the dream family, beautiful both inside and out.
The ceremony setup was simple with a modern edge, featuring pampas and floral touches that complimented the mountainous backdrop beautifully. Their chosen celebrant helped them create an intimate ceremony, full of emotion. Their 3 children read some beautiful pieces they’d prepared which completed the ceremony perfectly.
I feel so blessed to have been chosen to shoot this special moment and it is an event I shall cherish forever.
