A Festive Dubai Styled Shoot By Bridees Wedding Boutique & Flower Cocoon
Are you feeling festive yet? Don’t worry, we know it can be hard despite the decorations and Dubai festive markets that seem oh so popular this year! If you’re in search of some festive cheer this season, we hope that today’s featured styled shoot will have you feeling sparkly as well as inspiring any winter-themed soirees that you may be planning.
This winter wonderland shoot was the brainchild of Nadia from Bridees Wedding Boutique. Together with Ginny from Flower Cocoon, Nadia planned this suitably December-themed shoot and got on board several wedding professionals, several of whom are BCME vendors. Personally, we love the baby blue hues in this colour palette, which not only compliment the gorgeous florals, but also impart a feeling of festive crisp, cool air whilst keeping the overall look very fresh.
A Note From The Boutique Owner
The idea for the shoot started one day when I was browsing Instagram and came across a beautiful red and gold Christmas set up by Loft Studio from last year. I felt a bit nostalgic for the chill winter weather and Christmas atmosphere, as since living in Dubai for the past six years I often don’t really have the Christmas feeling that so many of us know and love.
This was the first moment I thought that I would love to do a Christmas/Winter Wedding styled shoot and to create our own christmas party. As luck would have it we had the perfect dress in the form of one of our new arrivals; Deirdre by by Maggie Sottero is a sleeved wedding dress, comprised of lace and Santorini chiffon. With illusion details, a bateau neckline, and a stunning V-back, it’s the perfect sweet-yet-sexy style.
Ginny from Flower Cocoon , with whom I have worked with before on other projects, and our model Anna, whom I met a few months back during another shoot, both came to my mind to share this festive shoot with, and suddenly everything began to fall into place.
I shared the thought with Ginny over a coffee during one of our encounters and she loved the idea, so we started approaching vendors interested in joining the team. Firstly, we contacted Ekaterina, the owner and photographer at Loft Studio in Abu Dhabi, and she was immediately on board. Very excited by the idea, Ekaterina shared with us some pictures of the second Christmas set up they added this year which has cold predominant colours such as blue, white, and silver, which we absolutely loved.
We met Nazly from Candy Motif during the Spooktacular Halloween Party organised by Bride Club ME and were impressed by her talent, so we asked if she would like to join us for the shoot. At the same event we met Laure, the makeup artist. I have never worked with her before but after this shoot she is definitely one of my favourite makeup artists as she is very professional and talented.
As for the hair style, we didn’t want just anyone but the very best! With this in mind, we approached Be Bar, which turned out to be the best choice ever, as they exceeded our expectations with their amazing hairstyle.
Our model Anna was very easy going, fun and professional, and I would definitely like to work with her again in the future.
The Event Suppliers were flexible and kindly helped us bring our idea to fruition by providing the beautiful white table set and the blue glasses (the perfect tableware that matched the theme).
Ekaterina the Photographer was a delight to work with, a fun, having a creative nature, and helping us to feel comfortable from those first seconds when we met her in her beautiful studio. Straight away we knew that this shoot would be a lot of fun!
A Note From The Other Vendors
Flowers and headpiece by Ginny of Flower Cocoon
“For this Christmas themed styled shoot we wanted to go with something less traditional. We chose to use Noble Fir as well as Cotton Buds for a festive bridal bouquet. We used this for our centerpiece as well as boutonnières too, including Ilex Berries and a touch of Berry Eucalyptus”
Makeup by Laure Sejean
“I created a warm and more intense makeup look to reflect the winter festive season, but kept a glowy, fresh look on the skin. Though the eyes are more defined, choosing a nude lip gave a softer look.”
Cake by Nazly of Candy Motif
“I designed a cake that mirrors the Winter Wonderland theme. Subtle, textured and reminiscent of ice, the cake complements the beautiful cool-toned setting.”
