Styled Engagement Shoot by The Purple Chair

Here at BCME, we love receiving submissions that show something a little different to the pretty beach and desert settings that are such a well loved part of weddings in the UAE. Today, Dubai based boutique wedding company, The Purple Chair, are sharing with us this unique ‘arabian woodland’ styled shoot, designed with all of you engaged couples in mind!

Honestly, we really don’t know where to start when describing these stunning images, captured by Shyrel at Enchanté Studios. We could begin by describing the ethereal setting, which appears about as ‘un-Dubai’ as you can get (and is a secret location!), or by saying how much we love the luxurious black velvet dress, which adds a glamourous appeal and seems to transport us back in time. We could even mention the beautiful flowers, cake and furniture, and how they all work well together to create the perfect whimsical woodland shoot. In all seriousness, the images speak for themselves, so we will leave it up to you to decide upon your favourite elements in the pictures below. Shot in the mystical forests of the United Arab Emirates, our styled shoot encapsulates the true beauty of this Arabian backdrop and the romanticism of this couple. 

Portrait Couture photographer Shyrel has captured gorgeous shots of this serene forest which tell an enchanting story through this series of images. The lovely bride-to-be stuns in an elegant gown by local designer Bambah Boutique, which demonstrates that a black gown can be both enchanting and romantic. 

To compliment the bare forest trees during the winter, we used plenty of greenery in our arrangements. We opted for green foliage using seeded eucalyptus populous with accents of peach berries. Mayflower Dubai did a wonderful job putting together these stunning arrangements and creating the bouquet for the shoot. Of course, a shoot is not complete without delicious cakes to go with it. Beautifully captured are a European Bundt cake dripped in a rich glaze, and a semi naked cake dressed in succulents.

As for inspiration, we wanted to break away from the trending, more conventional, blush and pastel pallets and explore a look that is more enchanting using darker hues. Most of the work at The Purple Chair is inspired by the beauty of nature and so we incorporated that into the look. We hope this shoot inspires brides-to-be to step out of their comfort zone and explore using seasonal trends for their engagement shoots. A hearty thank you to everyone involved who brought this shoot to life.
