Last week, saw Bride Club ME host their first ‘in person’ iftar since 2019, as last year, smack bang in the middle of lockdown, the team celebrated virtually with their valued Bride Club ME vendors and wedding industry friends.
This years iftar was graciously hosted by the gorgeous Saba’a café, Al Seef Heritage Hotel, located in old Dubai, a place rich in culture and heritage and one of our favourite parts of Dubai. The restaurant celebrates the ‘unforgotten’ traditional flavours of the region through authentic, oriental cuisine. Translating from the Arabic word for seven, Saba’a is open seven days a week, serving breakfast and dinner with carefully selected recipes depicting the true essence of a ‘home cooked meal’.
With an intimate guest list of 14 Bride Club ME listed vendors, tables were set within the current pandemic guidelines of 7 per table, 3 feet apart and guests wore masks, aside from when seated to eat and drink. Adding a touch of magic to the décor, Nazy of Quite Quaint Brides by Nazy Saif, provided simple and elegant floral centre pieces to the tables, complimented by the ambience of The Oasis Candle Co, Oud and rose scented candles.
Bringing some arabesque glamour to the evenings dress code, Bride Club ME Founder Rio, wore a custom designed kaftan and mask made by Bride Club ME vendor Rebekahs Bridal & Occasion Wear, with makeup by Bride Club ME vendor Preeti of YOUniq Makeovers.
Guests were treated to giveaways courtesy of Totes & Tokens Founder Dina who gave a demonstration on how her Eco-friendly and reusable material gift wraps, can also be cleverly turned into a fashion accessory or mini tote bag.
Saba’a café put on a delicious spread for iftar, which included manaqish cooked fresh in front of guests, healthy salads, mezzes, hot Arabic mains and delicious deserts, followed by coffee or tea for those in the mood.
It’s safe to say a great night was had by all, and after such a long period away from one another due to the pandemic restrictions, it was a welcome evening of good conversation and networking, with new and familiar faces from the UAE’s wedding industry. Until next time!
