Sustainable and Ethical beauty has seen a boom in the last 2-3 years with conscious women seeking more detail and transparency, brands are being forced to conform and it’s a great thing! Although we’ve got a way to go, it’s a brave new world out there with plenty of companies emerging to fill the void of heritage beauty brands that are missing a trick.
Whether you want Clean, Cruelty-Free or sustainable beauty products for your wedding day and beyond, I thought I’d clear the way through the green-washing and false marketing claims for you and share a few of my faves’.
Hydrating Mask:
Whether you’re flying out to your honeymoon or into Dubai for your wedding, Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is the one product you don’t want to miss adding to your carry-on. It’s super dewy and hydrating, soothing thirsty, stressed-out skin by steeping the epidermis cells in a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and gentle exfoliating extracts. Skin looks instantly renewed, radiant and ready for whatever life throws at it!
The Jet Lag Mask by Summer Fridays is non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), no phthalates (nasty plastics), surfactants (long-term irritant), petrolatums (toxic chemicals), BHT, BHA, or silicones.
You can find @summerfridays on Aspirebeautyco.com for 185AED.
Eye Cream:
Caudalie’s Vineactive Energizing and Smoothing eye cream is light in texture and alleviates dark circles whilst smoothing under-eyes puffiness, boasting a 12-hour sleep effect for under the eye. To guarantee the maximum result, I would advise using this product from at least one month before your wedding day. Aside from its efficacy, what I love about Caudalie products are that they’re proudly free from fragrance, parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oil and animal-derived product – There was no doubt about it – I had to mention them!
You can find @caudalie on Sephora.ae for 180 AED.
Vegan and Cruelty-Free Foundation:
If you’re a fan of every-day wear lightweight foundation of full coverage that will take you from am-pm, KVD Vegan Beauty has something to suit. The American brand has been one of the first brands in the market to commit to creating great products that are cruelty-free and vegan. Both of the below foundations will give a matte finish making them ideal for those with normal to oily skin.
The Lock It foundation has full coverage and is waterproof! It’s great at covering redness which makes this product ideal for skin in hotter climates than they’re used to.
The True Portrait foundation has a powder-liquid finish that will give you just enough coverage with a very light feel and velvety finish.
You can find @kvdveganbeauty at Sephora.ae – Lock it foundation 180AED, True portrait 180AED.
Dewy and Blushed Cheeks:
Nudestix has long been one of my all-time favourite makeup brands and one I’ve been choosing for my clients for as long as I can remember. The one product that you won’t find my kit without is their Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze. You can use them as a blusher or to contour/bronze. They give such a healthy and natural glowing result to your skin – perfect for a big day!
You can find @nudesitix on Sephora.ae for 145 AED.
Thankfully, these aren’t all of what you can find in the market, but they’re definitely some of the champions from what’s out there, ticking the ethical boxes. If you’ve got a product that’s both kind to your skin, the planet and the animals, let us know in the comments! Also, remember to tag @brideclubme if you get round to giving any of those featured a go.
Stay tuned for next months article, I can’t wait to share my beauty tips with you all again soon.
