Contessa Bridal’s 2016 Collections
An update from Founder Mohammad Al Haj
As 2016 gets well and truly underway, we caught up with the founder of Contessa Bridal, and BCME’s expert panel member, Mohammed Al Haj, to find out which trends Contessa will be embracing this year.
Mohammed told us that:
♡ 2016 will focus on design and shape, such as ball gowns with fitted corsets and illusion lace.
♡ Moreover, straight dresses will incorporate a detachable train in order to give more shape when required.
♡ Colour is becoming a trend, and whilst most brides still opt for ivory, there will be a growing demand for shades such as sand, blush, café, champagne and dark ivory.
As always, Contessa has a wide selection of wedding gowns in different styles and colours, whether you are opting for a classic or ‘on trend’ look for your big day. We took a look at some of the new items in stock…could any of these be your dream gown?
For a fitted look, this stunning dress from the Justin Alexander Signature collection features a delicate hand beaded fit and flare tulle gown, with a sweetheart neckline and horsehair accented hemline. We are totally in love with the shape of this gown!
Alternatively, this Justin Alexander gown in Sorbet/Silver, is not only a visual representation of an emerging trend in 2016, but also features a sweetheart beaded bodice, natural waistline and tulle ball gown skirt with tiers of beaded trim.
If you are looking for a slightly alternative wedding dress that is guaranteed to make an impact, look no further than this Maxime Couture number in sand/ivory. This unique, innovative straight gown features a mesh neckline, simply beaded with pearls and piallette, with cambric lining and an illusion back.
Finally, the other Maxime Couture dress in Contessa’s new collection has floating lace details on the neckline and sleeves, beaded Alencon lace on soft tulle and an illusion low back, which is sure to leave every bride feeling sophisticated and glamorous in this straight silhouette.
It’s important to remember, during the madness of dress shopping, that at the end of the day, it is YOUR wedding, and you should feel free to wear whatever you wish. Some brides will opt for a more classic look that stands the test of time, whilst others will go for what’s ‘in fashion’ now. Your dress should be a reflection of your personality, and, most importantly, be something that you absolutely love and feel amazing in.
