Five Festive Weddings & Styled Shoots From Around The World

It’s often said that one of the downsides of living in the UAE is missing out on the festive season if you’re not lucky enough to be able to travel at this time of year. However, there’s something about the changing weather (how ‘cold’ is it in the mornings now?!) and the different cultural celebrations that are held during these ‘winter’ months that certainly brings with them an air of festivity, even if it’s not the same as you would experience back home. If you’re planning a winter wedding for 2017, or are hosting an engagement party this year and are looking for some inspiration, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve done the hard work for you! Below, we feature our favourite festive posts from some of the world’s top wedding websites.

As you can see, it is possible to create a wintery, festive ambience to your event by taking inspiration from the key elements and ideas that are captured below. For example, deep reds, vivid greenery and even rose gold all make an appearance, showing you how to impart your own festive spin for your big day in the UAE.

A BCME Festive Tablescape with an Industrial/Rustic Twist

One of our very own styled shoots, this rustic and industrial shoot took place in a backyard in Dubai and features lots of warm, rich tones and mood lighting. Additional elements such as the brick wall with the neon sign and an abstract Christmas tree assisted in turning the overall look and feel of the setup into a cosy and industrial festive season wedding dinner. A Rustic Wedding in Penang

We love this dreamy Christmas Eve wedding celebration in Malaysia, courtesy of The Wedding Scoop. The bridesmaids, in sequined rose gold dresses, demonstrate that ‘festive’ doesn’t have to mean traditional colours, whilst hints of red in the décor and details give a nod to the season. See the full shoot here.

Rustic Vintage Wedding Inspiration in Red, Blue and Gold

Taking on a more traditional feel, this styled shoot from Chic Vintage Brides focuses on the tablescape and cake; elements that can easily be modified to bring a hint of winter to your wedding, no matter where you are in the world. We also love the wedding stationery, which in gold and blue are just perfect for a classy winter event. And don’t get us started on that vintage car! See the shoot wedding here.

Cosy Winter Wedding Inspiration

Copper detailing and hues of chocolate lend a unique festive feel to this styled shoot featured on Knots Villa. There’s something about the images (and it’s not just the scrumptious looking desserts) that remind us of warm hot chocolate and winter greenery. We also love how the table has been dressed in rich textiles; something you can easily do for your UAE winter wedding! See the full shoot here.

Cookie Exchange Bridesmaid Luncheon

We love the light, outfits and details in this shoot featured on Hill City Bride! Whilst the UAE isn’t exactly known for the beautiful woodland settings as pictured here, the desert or beach gets quite chilly in the early morning and late evening, which we think would make a really pretty shot, complete with sweaters like the girls in the images are wearing. See the full shoot here.

We hope that the above provides some unique ideas for those of you who are planning a festive soirée – be it for a wedding, an engagement party, or just a good old get together with friends. Whilst we may not live in a particularly festive country in terms of weather and culture, it is possible to include elements that will help to give you and your guests that warm, Christmassy glow. Merry Christmas to all our readers who celebrate!
