Alberto Morillas, Master Perfumer & Founder of Mizensir, is the creator of some of the world’s most iconic perfumes including Calvin Klein CK One, Kenzo Flower, Bvlgari Omnia, Cartier Panthere de Cartier, Giorgio Armani Aqua di Giò for women and Goldea for Bvlgari, to name just a few. As he visits Dubai this week for the launch of his own line, Mizensir Perfumes, we had the pleasure of asking Alberto some questions which we hope will help Brides to Be find their perfect wedding day scent, and make it last!
♡ What would be your advice to Brides looking for their perfect Wedding Day scent?
First of all, I would recommend getting to know each other’s olfactory tastes by discovering new perfumes together. It is the osmosis of two that must be sought. It is a moment of pleasure, a sensorial moment to share.
♡ Do you think different scent families suit certain personalities better?
Absolutely and especially for this very symbolic occasion that is a wedding.
♡ Do you have any tricks & tips for helping Bride’s make sure their scent lasts the duration of their big day?
First, it is important to know your perfume. You must, therefore, have worn your perfume in advance to know how it will react to your skin and how it will last. A perfume reveals different emotions on each skin. The bride and groom should also wear them together, each one his own, so that the association obtained is the one desired on the wedding day. Then, it is necessary to make sure that you perfume different parts of the body. For a woman, focus on the neck and wrists. For men, torso and arms.
♡ Being in the Middle East, of course OUD is a very popular choice of scent by locals and expats alike. Do you have a favourite OUD inspired perfume?
For my brand Mizensir, I have created several fragrances based on Oud. For a wedding, I imagine the association of Ideal Oud for the bride and Original Oud for the groom. Two exceptional perfumes due to the rare quality of Oud from Sri Lankan plantations.
♡ Are you aware of any of your perfume creations being popular with Brides?
No, but I do hope so. It is always a great honour for a perfumer to know that his creations will accompany unforgettable moments of life.
♡ Have you ever created a bespoke scent for a Bride?
I’ve never had this privilege.
♡ What is your personal favourite scent?
It depends a lot on the moment, the season, my mood. I don’t have a favourite flavour, but several. I like to change fragrance regularly, even several times a day, for each moment of life.
