This week we have the privilege of showcasing Joumana Tannous, Managing Partner at wedding and event planners Aghareed. Below, Joumana tells us all about the company and how they can help brides to plan their dream day. Enjoy!

How long has Aghareed been established, and what makes your company different when it comes to planning weddings?

Aghareed was established in 2012. Back then, it was called Aghareed by Lafayette as we were part of  Galleries Lafayette. We Believe we are quite different as our approach to business is very unique. We don’t see events and weddings as business opportunities, instead, it is really our passion and we do it from all our hearts. We are very easy to approach, friendly, warm, and believe that creativity has no limits. We work within a couples’ budget and simply love what we do.

What made you decide to work in the wedding and events industry?

I have been doing corporate events for 20 years. I worked in advertising agencies all my life, handling international luxury brands and creating concepts and designs for product launches. I have done events for different international and local clients from luxury products, motor companies, real estate, car races, government conferences etc. I used to create the concept for the event, produce it and direct it.

I hold a BA degree in Interior Design which has helped me a lot in my work, especially when creating sets and concepts for my clients. I have always worked with colours, styles, fabric, décor, paintings, and music; I am a person who loves being a source of happiness for others as it gives me utmost pleasure. So with all the experience I have  in event management I decided to become a wedding stylist/ planner as everyone around me, from clients to friends and family, all encouraged me to do so as it fits my personality.

What do you love most about your work?

Simply everything – even the extreme stress associated with it!

Do you have any excit­ing wedding projects happening soon? What new trends are you looking forward to?

I always look forward to each and every wedding we create, no matter how big or how small it is. We have a desert wedding coming up soon and a wedding taking place on a yacht that we can’t wait to make happen. I love it when clients are open to new ideas and I would love to create a 3D mapping wedding this year.

How do you manage trust from your clients? After all, it is the most important day of their lives…

Trust is gained and not forced. In my opinion, being transparent, being yourself, showing your genuine passion in what you do and your genuine interest in your bride and her big day, and doing what you always promise you will do is very important to gain trust.

If you could give one piece of wedding planning advice to our readers (brides-to-be) what would it be?

Enjoy preparing for your wedding and make sure you hire a wedding planner that understands you who you feel can become your friend one day. I always advise all my brides to create a journal and write down all their feelings while preparing for their weddings, adding pictures, quotes, and dedications, etc.

What budgets do you cater for? Are there specific packages available?

We love what we do and we do it with all our heart. Again, for us wedding styling and planning is not a job, it is a passion, so we create concepts and organise weddings that fit each couples’ needs and budget.

I met Rio when she was expecting a baby and honestly loved her passion for weddings and events. For me, passion is an essential part of my life and in everything I do, and so I appreciate people who are passionate about their jobs and believe in what they do.
