This week, we have the privilege of showcasing Kholoud Asha, Lifestyle Events Manager at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. Below, Kholoud provides us with exclusive insight into life as a hotel event manager, what it’s like hosting weddings at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and what she loves most about her job.

How long has Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club been established, and what makes your hotel different when it comes to hosting weddings?

Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club was established in 2006. The club offers a unique location for weddings, and guests can create special memories on their most memorable day in our spacious Saha Courtyard. It is built around the club and provides breathtaking views on the terrace overlooking the majestic polo fields.

Inside, our charming Barooda Lounge is bathed in natural light and also provides a stunning balcony area and terrace – ideal for those picture-perfect photographs! All our packages include an equestrian theme by offering one of our horses to be included in your photo-shoot,as well as a horse carriage for the couple’s entrance.

What made you decide to work in the events and hospitality industry?

I was lucky enough to know from  a young age that I wanted to be in events. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and started my career in front office, gradually working my way up.

I am really passionate about my job. I enjoy the logistical side of events especially and working with couples planning their dream weddings. That’s what makes all the hard work worthwhile.

What do you love most about your work?

What I love most about my work, is watching people experience the event we  helped create and most importantly being given the opportunity to be part of the couples’ special day.

Do you have any excit­ing wedding events happening at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, any time soon?

We recently hosted a wedding on the field , where the groom made his extravagant arrival on a horse. This was an extremely exciting event for us to put together and be a part of.

In order to continue creating great experiences for our couples, we are working on a very unique Polo Wedding concept and we will announce the details shortly.

Describe the experience a bride to-be will have when hiring Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club for her wedding?

We understand how important perfection is, and at the same time, we realise how stressful it can be to remember every detail. We ensure that we are always on hand to offer expert advice to the bride to-be and oversee the entire process.

How do you manage trust from your clients?

Building trust is key in order to fulfil the dreams of the couples most important day. Cultivating and maintaining good relationships with clients, vendors, employers and one’s own event team is very important. This makes us feel prepared throughout the event process. My biggest challenge is when that seamless communication is lacking. I have also learnt that we cannot assume anything when planning an event and that it is better to over-communicate than under-communicate, in order to provide the couples with their ultimate dream wedding day.

If you could give one piece of wedding planning advice to our readers, what would it be?

My advice to every bride is don’t get overwhelmed with all the Pinterest inspiration. The unlimited wedding resources available nowadays online just leaves you wanting more for your wedding. Don’t feel like you need to have every trend you see at your wedding. Pick and choose ideas that truly match you and your husband to-be personalities. Stay true to your values and humble nature throughout the planning process.
