This week we have the privilege of showcasing Clementine Porot, Event Sales Manager at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas. Clementine (the key person of contact at for many brides at the stunning park Hyatt) provides us with exclusive insight into her role as Event sales manager, and shares with us what she loves most about her job.

• How long has Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas been established?

Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi has been open since November 2011.  The hotel welcomes many leisure travellers seeking the quiet and luxury of an island resort.  In addition to well-appointed rooms, suites and villas, first-class restaurants and a luxurious spa and wellness centre, the hotel offers a wide range of residential events facilities and a team of dedicated professionals that ensures our guests have a memorable and pleasant experience, whether they are staying with us or hosting an event.

• Briefly tell us about your role and what do you love most about your work?

As a wedding organiser, I am usually the couple’s first contact and the insider that will guide them through the wide range of services we offer.  It is my objective to make sure their wedding day will be a celebration they won’t forget.  What I love most about my work, and especially about wedding organisation, is the ability to be flexible and handle different requests at the same time. 

It’s a true pleasure to represent an island resort that offers so many options and be able to suggest to the couple ideas such as an island beachfront wedding ceremony, beautiful residential venues, a large array of menu options, luxurious accommodation and more.  But most heart-warming is to see the beautiful smiles on the bride and groom’s faces and knowing that somehow I have contributed to their joy and happiness on their special day.

• How do you manage trust from your clients?  After all, it is the most important day of their life.

As I mentioned earlier, empathy is very important.  I just put myself in the shoes of the bride and groom, both of whom are overwhelmed with details and organisational issues like a ship sailing in stormy seas.  I need to be the calm captain who will suggest solutions and bring them to safe shores.  Better yet, I welcome them to a beautiful luxurious island and help them organise the wedding of their dreams.  I believe that having a good connection from the start helps you to establish a friendly relationship with your clients, letting them know that they can trust you and count on you.

• Do you have any excit­ing weddings/events com­ing up at Park Hyatt this year?

I believe that all our past and upcoming events are special celebrations.  One of the most exciting aspects of our weddings at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is the diverse cultural backgrounds of our couples which shows through the different approaches to the celebration of their special day.  It is truly a blessing to witness the celebration of love conquering boundaries of nationalities, beliefs and traditions, and blossoming into a beautiful ceremony we make sure will be an unforgettable one.

• Do you have a favourite ceremony and/or reception location at the hotel?

I don’t really have a favourite ceremony, but I do have favourite emotional moments during a wedding.  Watching the bride walk towards the groom and loved ones gazing with admiration at the beautiful smiling couple.  These are the most magical moments that make me thankful for the role I play in organising the overall ceremony.  As for my favourite reception location, it would definitely be the beach lawn facing the beautiful turquoise waters of Saadiyat, the perfect spot for a dreamy island wedding.

• Describe your wedding planning style and approach to events.

The key is to listen to the couple’s needs and the vision they have of their dream wedding.  Being a good listener definitely plays an important role and if the couple is happy, my job is done.  I always try to empathise, match the couple’s vision and realise it using every single asset the hotel has to offer. Shaping it all into a beautiful wedding day is an enjoyable and challenging task.

• How can our readers (Brides) benefit from having their wedding at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas?

In addition to having a team of dedicated people eager to go the extra mile to create the best experience, brides-to-be celebrating their wedding at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi are able to enjoy the luxury of a prestigious island location and intimate wedding venues.  They can also earn points when organising their wedding with us, and are able to enjoy a dream honeymoon in Hyatt locations worldwide. 

It is important to be able to rely on your wedding organiser and to know that the only thing you will have to worry about is just getting ready and beautiful for the big day.  Leave the rest to us and just enjoy!

• If you could give one piece of advice to expat brides-to-be, what would it be?

I have noticed that many brides make the involuntary mistake of forgetting that it’s all about them on their special day, and instead of enjoying every minute of it, spend a lot of time and energy worrying about their entourage’s comments and the overall feedback during the ceremony.  My advice to brides-to-be is to enjoy being radiant and beautiful in their amazing wedding gowns, hold the hand of their newly made partner for life, and dance the night away.  And don’t forget to enjoy the delicious cake!

• Lastly, why did you choose to list with www.brideclubme.com?

We believe brideclubme.com is the perfect fit for the message we would like to convey.  Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is a luxurious wedding location, with an intimate residential feeling that overwhelms guests as soon as they step inside the hotel.  The website is also an interesting interactive platform through which we can be easily reached by potential brides-to-be who would be interested in our hotel as a wedding venue and our other related services.

Bride Club ME have passed many enquiries our way so far, especially when they partnered with our ‘wedding showcase’ earlier this month, we look forward to a further successful collaboration.
