How long has The Wedding Filmmakers been established, and what makes your company different to other videographers in the region?
We filmed our first wedding in early 2012 and our company has been growing steadily ever since. We are now lucky enough to travel the world with our work and have filmed weddings as far afield as the USA, Europe, UAE and the Middle East. We decided to make Dubai our home away from home in early 2017.
We have worked hard over the years to develop our own unique filming and editing style. Our films usually have a big emphasis on capturing the fun side of a wedding and atmosphere of the party, alongside the more personal moments. The couples that hire us usually want their wedding to feel like one big party and would like their video to reflect this. We are also a diverse company, having filmed weddings of almost every religious and cultural background, but with particular expertise in Indian and Middle Eastern weddings.
What made you decide to work in the wedding industry?
The decision to work in the wedding industry wasn’t a conscious one at first. We initially started out in the commercial sector producing promotional videos. Along the way, we were asked to film a few weddings and quickly became hooked. A year or so down the line it became clear that our passion was creating wedding films so we decided to specialise at this point.
What we love about the wedding industry is that it gives us the freedom to be creative and to produce something that will be enjoyed for many years and generations to come. Moreover, almost everyone in the industry is extremely passionate about what they do and are focused on making people happy. To be a part of this is very special indeed.
What do you love most about your job?
We honestly feel like we have the best job in the world and there are so many things to love about it. However, hearing the reaction from our clients after watching their wedding films for the first time is a very satisfying feeling. We always go the extra mile for our couples both on the day and during the editing process so it is nice to hear that they are over the moon with the result.
Do you have any exciting wedding projects happening soon? What are you most looking forward to in the near future?
We have many exciting wedding commissions booked for 2018. We enjoy filming large celebrations so are excited about a 600 guest wedding at a 5-star hotel in Mayfair that is upcoming. Another couple, a professional footballer and his fiancé, are planning an Ibiza style party for their reception which sounds like it will be great fun to shoot. We are also looking forward to filming more luxurious events in Dubai over the coming months.
How do you manage trust from your clients? After all, it is the most important day of their lives…
This is a great question as we feel that it is important that our clients trust us and allow us to have creative freedom throughout the filming and editing process. We always show prospective clients examples of our full-length wedding films when they get in touch, so that they have a clear idea of what we will produce for them.
The couples that hire us often work in creative industries themselves and we have filmed the weddings of actors, directors, photographers, fashion designers, musicians and event planners. This knowledge gives potential clients reassurance that we can be trusted with the most important day of their lives too. We take our work very seriously and the feeling of nerves before a wedding day is something that we still experience, even after 200+ weddings.
If you could give one piece of advice to our readers (brides-to-be) what would it be?
The best advice we could give is to hire an experienced wedding planner. Their assistance during the planning stage and on the day is invaluable and will take away the stress of organising a once in a lifetime event. We love working alongside wedding planners; it makes the pre-production and filming process run smoothly for us which results in an even better film for our clients.
What budgets do you cater for?
Crafting a bespoke film for each and every one of our clients takes a great deal of time, so we are only able to accept a limited number of commissions each year. Our pricing is towards the higher end of the scale, however, we believe in charging fairly for the work involved, providing a bespoke quotation based on each couples’ individual requirements.
Lastly, why did you choose to list with www.brideclubme.com?
We met BCME’s founder Rhiannon at the Quintessentially Weddings Atelier shortly after we decided to launch our business in the UAE region. We really connected with her and the BCME site. As well as being the UAE’s premier wedding website, we loved that fact that it caters to brides of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. Our client base is very diverse too so we felt that BCME would be the perfect place for us to list.
