Luscious Lipsticks for Wedding Lovely Lips
Today, our beauty expert Natasha, of Glossy Make-up, tackles the issue of finding the perfect lip colour for your special day. This may seem like a minor concern in the bigger scheme of things, but I myself recall spending ages searching for the right lipstick for my Dubai wedding. In the end, I had asked my MUA to use a combination of tones. Below, Natasha offers some great advice on what to look for.
Hello Ladies! I hope you all had a romantic time last month, seeing as it was February – Valentine’s Day month.
Today, I want to talk to you about quite possibly my favourite beauty ‘must have’: LIPSTICK! Choosing the right shade for your big day can seem quite daunting, so I am here to make it a little easier.
Most brides opt for a natural lipstick, but it can be quite hard to know which shade works best for you. In my professional experience, the nude colour combination that most of my brides are happy with is Stripdown Lipliner and Creme De Nude Lipstick by MAC Cosmetics, with a sweep of Naked lip-gloss by Tom Ford (Kim Kardashian’s favourite). Depending on your skin tone, you can deepen the colour by choosing a darker lip liner like Spice by MAC Cosmetics. If you are keen on a lipstick with a pinky undertone, I recommend Dervish Lip Liner by MAC Cosmetics and Dusky Pink Lipstick by Tom Ford.
On a darker note, if you are considering a vampier look, go for a red lipstick. If you have a warm skin tone, then reds with a blue undertone look best; Ruby Woo by MAC Cosmetics is a stunning choice. Ladies with a cool undertone to their skin look great with an orangey red, such as MAC Cosmetics’ Russian Red. As you can probably tell, I really love their lipsticks, and I promise they don’t pay me to plug them, he-he! They have a great pay off in colour and the textures are not drying to your lips.
If you have dry lips, I suggest mixing a bit of sugar and Vaseline together and giving your lips a gentle scrub the night before your big day. I hope these tips are helpful! Have fun trying out lipsticks.
