Pantone Color of the Year 2015: Marsala
Earlier this month, after keeping us all in suspense, Pantone announced that their official color of 2015 is Marsala. Dubai’s very own wedding stationery extraordinaire and designer ‘Louma’ (Founder of Design by Louma), whipped up this weeks mood board, to help our readers incorporate this hot hue into their 2015 weddings.
Pantone says: “Sensual and bold, delicious Marsala is a daringly inviting tone that nurtures; exuding confidence and stability while feeding the body, mind and soul. Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this robust shade incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness.”
Last years winning colour was bright and bold (Orchid), whilst this years winner is warm and earthy; perfect for a 2015 fall or winter wedding. When paired with lighter hues such as soft pinks or ivory, Marsala could work well for a Spring wedding too. We look forward to seeing what beautiful weddings emerge in 2015 using ‘Marsala’ as the key colour.
Wondering what the other Pantone colour runner ups were? Check out the below colour chart. We love Toasted Almond, Titanium and Sandstone.
