What are your big day beauty goals – to have a complexion that’s glowing, a plumped pout, to look fresh-faced & natural? What if I told you that you could achieve all of the above without spending a dirham? All you need is a little prep-time and some Face Yoga moves in your tool kit (see below). Face Yoga is a great way to relax your jaw, boost collagen and tighten the jowls, allowing your natural features to look their absolute best whilst evoking a little zen into your ‘I DO’. It’s something I practice with many of my brides and it always goes down a treat – it has even been known to induce a power-nap before the make-up application.
If you want to get ahead of the curve and start some stretching in advance of the ‘night-before’, just make sure you drink plenty of water, moisturise your skin and keep some facial oil/serum close by for easy-glide massaging.
Get The Glow – Prep The Base
The day of the wedding can be a long one for the bride and this can start to show on your skin, especially if you’ve gone for a photo-finish foundation base. Before I start any kind of make-up application, I always start with a facial massage that activates the facial muscles and helps to prime the skin. There are several ways you can do this without investing into supplies – however, I have found significant results when using the Fit Face Glow Gold Derma Roller (280AED at Faces.com), it stimulates the blood circulation, boosting the collagen production as well as a better product penetration.
Watch this quick video for some example exercises you can do, both with and without any tools. Repeat each moves 10 times for best results.
Perfect Your Pout with Plumped Lips
If you haven’t yet tried the Nano Gold Repair Lip Mask (95AED, Houseofmc.com) – I recommend that you give it a go, to see for yourself. And if you want to optimise the embedded serum effects, then don’t miss out a quick stretch and massage in the lower region of your face that will even get your photographer smiling for those portrait close-ups. If you don’t have a lip mask, no problem – any lip balm or face oil will also work well.
Massage your mouth following these simple but effective tips in the below video. Repeat each moves 10 times for best results.
Bright-Eyed Beneath the Veil
On one of the most emotionally fuelled days of your life, you’ll want the windows to your soul to shine as bright as the diamond on your finger. There may be tears, there may be laughter lines, but these Facial Yoga moves for the eye area will de-puff, brighten and relax the most tired of eyes for guest greeting and photo ops’ throughout the day. Although no tools are needed, I sometimes add my Knesko Skin Jade Roller (249AED, houseofmc.com) to this routine for optimal efficiency. And if you keep it in the fridge, you’ll really be acing your bridal prep.
Get the moves from the vid below, repeating each one ten times for best results.
