A Busy Month
It has been a busy festive season for our real Dubai bride Michelle Williams. Alongside friend and family commitments, plus juggling work, she has also been finalising her plans for her wedding in a couple of months. What an exciting time! Read on to find out more.
This month has been a crazy busy month with my level three Teaching Studies, the festive season, late wedding invites, a final tailored wedding dress and winning a competition to a private garden party (wedding event) at the Ritz Carlton JBR.
The Christmas period was fun, festive and very busy. We had lots of fun meeting friends and going to Christmas markets, but it also meant putting some wedding plans on hold and totally forgetting to send out the wedding invites!
After spending a while designing the invites myself, I finally had them printed out by Flying Colours on a gorgeous pearl tinted paper. I do, however, feel as though they were a waste of money but maybe it’s because I left it far too long and sent them over the busiest time of the year. Many of our guests are all over the world, so for me personally if I could do it again I’d send wedding invites digitally. Of course it’s great to get an official invite and something in your hands but I’m sure the people you have invited that are your nearest and dearest would understand, and, after all, it’s the sentimental value of having been invited not a pretty card. Or maybe that’s just me?
I had the final adjustments to my dress with My Tailor and Little Things in JLT, and I have to say they were amazing! So accommodating, very friendly, efficient and gave me exactly what I was looking for. Initially, my dress was buttoned at the back but I had it changed into a corset with an ivory criss-cross ribbon at the back. I had the waist, bust and thigh measurements changed too and it fits like a glove! I was a little scared beforehand that it wouldn’t be perfect but when I tried it on that final day of collection I nearly cried I was that happy with it and I think it’s a personal thing every bride feels when they know their dress is “the one”!
I really enjoyed the wedding event at the Ritz Carlton, JBR. The layout, the food, the décor, the ambience and the vendors were awesome. There were food trucks, fresh seafood, lots of cake, beautiful table setups, signature drinks and a beautiful singer. The staff at the Ritz Carlton were so nice and made us feel very relaxed and welcome. We each got a goody bag containing a beautiful ombré (wedding favour) soap, a Swiss line eye gel, Ritz Carlton macaroons, a gorgeous candle and some heel stoppers that I’ll be using on the big day! It was a great experience and very inspirational.
This month has been both amazing and very tiring but I’m ready to move forward and proceed with the final preparations.
I hope you’ve been enjoying the beautiful Dubai weather as much as we have. See you again next month!
