The Welcome

The lobby of the resort is gorgeous, featuring high ceilings, elegant water features, a beautiful chandelier, and immediate views of the lagoon outside. The space felt tranquil and inviting, with an air of opulence too. We arrived on a Friday during the summer and the resort was busy, so we were invited to take a seat until check-in was ready. A gentleman approached us with a cooling face towel, scented rose water, and a refreshing drink, making us feel pampered from the offset. Once ready, check-in was swift and easy, and we were escorted to our suite via a buggy.

Sumptuous Rooms and Suites

From the moment we stepped into our room, we were greeted by an atmosphere of opulence and tranquillity. Each suite is designed with a harmonious blend of traditional Arabian aesthetics and modern comforts. The spacious interiors, plush bedding, and private balconies overlooking the picturesque scenery create an intimate setting perfect for couples. For those seeking an extra touch of luxury, the villas with private pools amongst the mangroves offer an exclusive retreat where you can unwind in complete privacy.

We really appreciated the gesture of a welcome card and sweet treats and can say with conviction that the massive bed in our suite was among the comfiest we have ever slept in! Our balcony was also impressively huge, and we loved the sink-in bathtub and luxurious salts. Our suite came with all the essentials, including a coffee machine, well-stocked mini fridge, TV, inbuilt Bluetooth system in the bathroom, and more. We have made it a goal to experience the over-water villas on our next visit!

No romantic getaway is complete without a visit to the Anantara Spa for a couple’s treatment. This haven of relaxation offers an array of treatments designed to rejuvenate and soothe. The Anantara signature couple’s massage, performed by skilled therapists, is a must-try, promising a deeply relaxing experience. Adam and I drifted off into a deep sleep during our massage and awoke feeling chilled and relaxed. The spa also features a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and quiet relaxation area, allowing you to fully take a break and enjoy the spa experience. Note: The relaxation areas have separate spaces for both men and women, and the facilities are also not shared by couples, only the massage experience.

Exquisite Dining Options

Anantara Mina Al Arab Resort, RAK boasts an impressive selection of dining venues, each offering a unique culinary journey. We started our day with a lavish breakfast at the all-day dining restaurant “Sea Breeze,” featuring a variety of international and local delicacies. For lunch, the beachside restaurant Beach House serves fresh seafood with a view of the sparkling Arabian Gulf. As the sun set, we indulged in a romantic dinner at Mekong restaurant, an Asian-inspired restaurant where you can see the chefs creating their magic and iconic dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, and China in an open kitchen. The interiors were particularly impressive, with a stunning entrance illuminated by flickering candles and graceful hand statues. We had our own booth which sat upon a calming body of water. The setting is the perfect reflection of Asia’s greatest waterway, overlooking the magnificent mangroves and the ocean beyond. The lighting, ambiance, food, and service were all spot on, and I highly recommend the king prawn Thai curry!
