Romance at the Saadiyat Beach Club Abu Dhabi
Last month, the hubby and I celebrated Valentine’s Day in style at Abu Dhabi’s breathtakingly beautiful Saadiyat Beach Club. Rarely getting much time together to simply relax, we made the most of our day passes and enjoyed dozing lazily by the huge pool, delicious signature massages and a scrumptious lunch at the Safina restaurant. Here’s the low-down on our experience, as well as some key facts about weddings at this gorgeous beachside venue.
Location
Just 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi’s Corniche and one hour from Dubai, the exclusive club has four restaurants and lounges, a 650-square-metre pool, a spa and gymnasium, and private access to Saadiyat’s nine-kilometre-long natural beach, making it the ideal location for an outdoor wedding. The neutral interior décor is stunning, giving a warm, homely vibe, instantly making you feel calm as you enter the impressive lobby.
Massage
To start our day, the hubby and I both enjoyed a much-needed one-hour signature Sodashi massage at the venue’s über-stylish spa. The deeply relaxing massage (with cardamom and manderine serenity body oil) uses smooth stroking movements with light-to-medium pressure to encourage an increase in lymphatic circulation and balance the body’s energy meridians.
My therapist Michel, was spot on with her technique and ensured I was happy, using just the right amount of pressure throughout the experience. Due to being a little late, we didn’t get to enjoy the spa’s facilities, such as the hot Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and plunge pool, and we certainly intend to return at some point. After my delicious massage, I was ready to laze by the pool and sleep!

Poolside relaxation
Mr H and I live in an odd location in Dubai with ongoing construction and don’t have the luxury of a pool, so when we get the chance to enjoy one, we make the most of it. The Saadiyat Beach Club’s pool is impressive, to say the least, and is the first thing you see when you walk into the lobby and look out. Surrounded by private cabanas reserved for members and paying guests, the pool is simply gorgeous.
The hubby and I enjoyed some downtime under the sun, sipping on refreshing juices, and I managed to complete my recent read, #GIRLBOSS (good book btw). Just further afield is the beach, where I took a little stroll and enjoyed the breathtaking views and the feel of soft white sand between my toes.
Lunch
With healthy appetites, we ventured over to Safina for lunch and sat outside on the beautiful terrace, overlooking the pool and gardens.
Safina specialises in Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the French and Italian Rivieras and the Levant; Mr H and I tucked into a special amuse–bouche rustled up by the chef, followed by our chosen dishes from the à la carte menu. I picked the delicious fried baby calamari with aioli, while the husband and I both opted fresh fish via the waiter’s recommendation. Before devouring our yummy lunch, we were given freshly baked heart-shaped pretzels to whet our appetites. Such a cute touch!
Weddings at the Saadiyat Beach Club
After lunch, we met with the venue’s event coordinator, Veronica Leon, who delighted in giving us a personal tour, talking us through all the wedding locations. With the beautiful turquoise Arabian Sea providing a spectacular backdrop for a beautiful beachside wedding, it truly is a stunning location. The club offers flexible indoor and outdoor spaces that can cater to intimate gatherings or large wedding celebrations. From the manicured gardens to the elegant indoor venues with spectacular panoramic views, Saadiyat Beach Club has lots to offer an engaged couple seeking a venue.
Couples can choose from a selection of scrumptious set menus and tantalising buffet options uniquely designed by the talented culinary team to suit the bride and groom’s personal needs. Veronica and her experienced event team will also be on hand throughout the organisation period and on the day to meticulously look after all the details of your special day.
Our day at the Saadiyat Beach Club was perfect in every way and brought back memories of our best buddies’ pre-wedding dinner at the same location a while back. Whether you intend to visit for the day or are looking to host your wedding event there, I am sure you won’t be disappointed; the venue really is perfect for couples looking for a location to celebrate an engagement or anniversary or for some one-on-one time together.
A couple’s day pass to enjoy the Saadiyat Beach Club’s facilities costs 370AED on weekdays and 720AED on the weekend.
I’m pleased to announce that the Saadiyat Beach Club has also recently joined the BCME vendor club and you can read more about their wedding offerings here.
