♡ BALI ♡
Bali has to be number one on my Summer Honeymoon Destination list! An amazing island and only 9 hours direct flight from Dubai. Strangely, when almost all of Asia is drenched with Monsoon season, Bali is not. The best time to visit this Indonesian island is between July and August. During these months the weather is perfect and most of the festivals take place during this time as well.
Bali has a wide range of fantastic resorts and poolside villas tucked away in the hills. With beautiful beaches, bustling markets and a vibrant nightlife full of entertainment, Bali is an ideal destination for honeymooning couples.
When visiting Bali, you must visit Ubud town in the centre for an unforgettable, jungle like, experience. Ubud town is located high in the Bali hills making it much cooler than the coast. Once here, you can explore Ubud’s Monkey forest, the arts & crafts markets or try mouth-watering dishes at the wide variety of restaurants. Ubud is also the wellness centre of Bali, with lots of opportunities to indulge in yoga, massages and pampering.
And if you feel like island hopping, it’s super easy to head over to the famous Gili Islands from Bali by ferry boat. The Gili Islands are a group of 3 tiny islands; Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. These islands are picture perfect with sandy beaches, palm trees and clear blue seas.
Bali is a ‘choose your own kind of adventure’ sort of destination so there really is something for every type of honeymooner!
♡ ITALY ♡
June to August is summertime in Europe which makes it the perfect time to enjoy your honeymoon La Dolce Vita style. Visit the epic and eternal city of Rome with its Colosseum and spectacular gardens and palaces. See the castles of Naples, or share a gondola ride down the canals of Venice. Or perhaps explore beautiful Florence with some of the most impressive art museums in Italy and enchanting hidden passageways.
Or if you’re looking for less of a city vibe, the island of Sardinia is tranquil with a traditional feel and is fast becoming one of the top honeymoon destinations in the world with it’s incredible, luxurious hotels. Here you can enjoy the clearest water in the Mediterranean Sea!
Lesser known parts of Italy like Puglia, Sicily or Calabria are equally stunning and throughout the country you will find friendly people, amazing food and some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean.
Take your pick between city breaks, top beach resorts or secluded hotels in the countryside, Italy has it all! It’s also quite easy to get around by car or train for the explorers amongst you.
♡ GREECE ♡
Greece is mostly known for a handful of stunning islands and island-hopping here is an absolute must! But did you know that Greece actually has 6000 islands and islets scattered around the Mediterranean Sea, out of which around 220 are uninhabited?
Santorini’s blue-domed churches, white washed buildings, black-sand beaches and breathtaking views of the Caldera are iconic. This is the island everyone dreams about. Explore the ancient ruins of Knossos on Crete, or visit the cave where Zeus was born. Or for the party loving couple, dance the night away on Mykonos, also dubbed the “St. Tropez of Greece”. Then there are many other less-frequented Cyclades Islands like Andros, Tinos, Naxos and Paros, to name just a few. Some are almost completely deserted of tourism, so if peace is what you are looking for, try Sikinos or Iraklia.
The Ionian Islands in the west offer pristine beaches like Corfu or Zakynthos. This group of islands has a more temperate climate, deep and cool sea waters, mountains and lush vegetation. The cheerfulness of the inhabitant will definitely make you feel welcome! Ideal for rest and relaxation.
♡ Tanzania & Zanzibar ♡
Tanzania is great in summer time as it has the perfect mix of adventure and beach relaxation. Summer is the dry season and considered one of the top wildlife viewing months in Tanzania with the best chance of seeing the wildebeest migration in the Serengeti.
Serengeti National Park is home to huge herds of wildebeest, gazelles, and zebras that migrate when their grazing lands disappear in the dry season. In addition to these animals; lions, hyenas, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards and baboons occupy the area along with rhinos, hippos, and hundreds of species of birds. Ngorongoro Crater is an absolute must see as well, especially for first-time visitors.
At the end of your safari, add some spice to your honeymoon in summer and visit the island of Zanzibar, also known as the ‘Spice Island.’ Here you can relax on the gorgeous beach, scuba dive, swim with dolphins or share a cocktail or two on the beach as you watch the sun set together. Pure romance.
♡ Mozambique ♡
This destination is for the adventurous beach loving couples! Underestimated and amazing, Mozambique is on the eastern coast of Africa, just north of South Africa. It has an incredibly long coastline (nearly 2000 km) with untouched beaches, it really is the new up and coming beach destination of Africa.
There are not too many 5-star resorts on offer, however the ones that are there are simply amazing. It is an incredible destination for beach, surf and snorkeling fans.
You will have perfect tropical weather between June and October with clear skies, plenty of sun and almost no rain. While the daytime is around 30 degrees, it can get a bit chilly at night. The further north you are along the coast, the warmer the weather.
♡ Botswana ♡
Botswana is a very special place in Africa. Less crowded than other safari destinations and truly special, this country is ideal for couples looking for the ultimate safari experience. Botswana is hard to top…
The weather in summer is just right for safaris (it can be a tad chilly at night) allowing you to witness the incredible wildlife in the Chobe National Park. As the animals search for water in the dry season, this is the best time to see the ‘The Big Five’ for the wildlife and photography enthusiasts.
Botswana is sure to be a game-changing, memorable trip.
