Hi, Bride Clubbers! I don’t know about you, but regardless of how 2021 shapes up to be, we are determined to fill it with love! Lucky for us Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and we are all about it – February is one of my favourite months, not only because of Valentine’s Day, but because it also (aptly) plays host to my wedding anniversary, so naturally there’s no choice in the matter (for my husband at least) of celebrating V Day with a bang – and this year’s make-up look is set to blow his socks off!
Whether you’re going to celebrate Valentine’s Day with an intimate home set-up, a swanky restaurant, or in a picnic under the stars in the desert, keep all eyes on you with these go-to products to create a glam ‘eat your heart out’ look for the night of love.
Plump and Illuminate Your Skin
For a date this romantic, you want your skin to look fresh and luminous. The 111Skin Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Mask will awaken and soothe your eyes after 15-20min by treating one of the most delicate areas of your face with amino acids, peptides and proteins for a truly authentic glow.
Once you’ve applied your eye mask, top it with the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask – it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! And one that I use on my brides constantly to create a gorgeous hydrated and smooth complexion! It’s full of supercharged ingredients such as niacinamide for clarity and radiance, peptides for youthful plumpness, as well as vitamins and oils (shea butter, avocado oil and mango butter) that work together to nourish and hydrate the skin. You can find it at Charlotte Tilbury stores.
Get the Cheeks He’ll Want to Eat
I love pairing my shade of lipstick to that of blush and since we’re aiming for a sultry red lipstick, these are my 2 favourite red blushers to create those irresistible cheeks.
For those who prefer a dewy look, the Fenty cream blusher is perfect. My favourite shades, that pair well with a red lip are Daiquiri Dip, Rose Latter and Summer Wine. Though in the pot they look super pigmented, they blend extremely well on the skin and create just the right amount of colour to flatter your cheek contour.
Kiko Milano has a full range of blusher shades which are both super pigmented and long-lasting. The shades that I prefer to use with a red lipstick are No8 (a very bright red – confident and glam colour) and No5 Coral (for a softer but just as romantic look). You can find them at Kiko Milano stores.
Lips full of love – full of Red
I’ve always loved wearing a red lipstick on Valentine’s Day, but I also want to ensure it stays all evening long. To achieve this, my hot beauty tip is to keep your lips well hydrated by applying some lip balm, enough in advance of applying your makeup. This will keep your lips nourished, smooth to the touch and a great base for your lipstick.
So here is my selection of lipsticks and why I love them:
If you’re looking for a fully matte lipstick that won’t budge then the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in ‘Uncensored’ will suit you well – It is one of the best in the market for this type of look.
If your goal is to get the long-wearing but demi-matte lip, then HudaBeauty Demi Matte in ‘Boy Collector’ needs a place in your purse ASAP – Demi Matte gives the long-wearing durability of a matte lipstick, with a soft gloss finish on your lips = absolutely gorgeous!
