Wedding Industry Professionals Gather For Annual BCME Iftar At Kaftan Restaurant
Last week, BCME hosted its annual Iftar, which has become something of a tradition in recent years. Providing an opportunity for a select group of wedding industry professionals to get together and relax after a busy season, this year’s Iftar took place at Kaftan Restaurant in Jumeirah and was actually more of a ‘pre-iftar’ since Ramadan started a day later than most people anticipated.
Goldfish Photography & Video were on hand to capture the action and beautiful décor.
Our twenty guests included vendors such as Theresa D Celebrant, Andrea from My Be Bar, Sanjay from Firenze Flora and Jessy from Rebekah’s Bespoke Tailoring. In addition, there were a number of wedding industry professionals who are not currently BCME vendors but whose work we absolutely adore! Our star guest was Maja, our ‘Diary of a Real Bride’ contributor. Maja loved the event and managed to network with her future DJ there and book some crafty décor elements with our DIY expert guest, Turquoise Boutique Studio.
The venue itself was simply stunning. As is common at this time of year, the meal took place in an air-conditioned tent within the garden setting of Kaftan Restaurant. There was a bohemian vibe and the outdoors were brought inside thanks to the gorgeous florals which were sponsored by our soon to be vendors, Flower Cocoon. Ginny from Flower Cocoon did a great job, using O’Hara Roses, Royal Porcelain Spray Roses, Delphinium, Eryngium and lots of fresh Italian eucalyptus.
Small and beautifully packaged gifts for our guests were provided by IGifts in JLT. These pretty boxes contained small glass candle holders with tea-lights.
As you can see from the images, the food was phenomenal and showcased Kaftan’s Iftar menu. This selection is available throughout Ramadan and consists of dishes such as Testi Kebab (natural fed and mountain grown beef meat cooked with organic farm tomatoes in a special clay pot sealed with fresh dough), and Kuzu Kol Tandir (8-hour slow cooked lamb). With over sixty different cold fezzes, grills, AND twenty-five different desserts, including Kaftan’s famous Baklava, there is something for every taste.
We really enjoyed catching up with everyone after a busy season!
