Advice for picking songs suitable for a wedding:

It’s a happy occasion, so choose upbeat music. Older music is fun, tunes from Chuck Berry, Abba, Wham, Candi Staton and Lady Gaga bring every generation onto the dance floor.

What’s hot in 2013?

Most people know the latest chart music, stick to artists like Jay Z and Rihanna for crowd pleasers. Different clients want different music styles, but if you pick a versatile DJ they will be able to deal with most requests on the night, even people coming up and asking to MC to a backing track!

2. Take advice from the DJ about the best spot to for the dance floor and music equipment, if you can.
