Behind The Scenes With Team Bride Club ME
Hello fans, Rio here, bringing you an update on what I have been up to behind the scenes at www.brideclubme.com. From meeting the lucky bride and groom winners of the WIN A WEDDING UAE competition (organised by Grace and Garbo), to getting bitten on the derriere by giant red ants in the desert, to stuffing my face full of the most unique and flavoursome popcorn, I’ll talk you through what’s been going on in March.
WIN A WEDDING UAE
First up, earlier in March, I was invited by the lovely Grace and Garbo team to attend their press conference, held at the Dusit Thani Dubai hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road to announce the winners of the most awesome wedding competition I’ve come across in a long time: ‘WIN A WEDDING UAE’. After a month-long campaign in association with Channel 4, a lucky bride and groom-to-be – Gillan and Divya – WON their complete wedding, including the venue (the Dusit Thani), styling (by Joelle at My Lovely Wedding), stationery, the dress and much much more.
Many of our wonderful Bride Club ME vendor club members took part in this competition, and will be supplying their services and products to the winning couple. These vendors include: Design by Louma (wedding stationery); Cloud Nine Events (wedding planning); CONTESSA Dubai (The dress); Make-Up by Dee & Dal (hair and makeup); Vandana Makar (henna art); Mylist.ae (wedding gift registry) and more. Bride Club ME will keep you up to date on the progress of the wedding and I’m sure that with so many established vendors, it will be an amazing day, with the bride and groom in good hands.
Bride Club ME’s third styled shoot
Last month, team Bride Club ME organised, or should I say somehow fell into our third styled shoot, along with some of our vendor club members and photographer Tasneem Al-Sultan, who always keeps us on our toes. This shoot was slightly different to normal and all will be revealed soon.
Let’s just say, we had no ‘set’ theme and got lost en route finding the perfect desert location…Oh and I got bitten on the bottom at least five times by giant red ants – don’t ask! That aside, the day was a great experience – full of fun and laughter and judging by the pictures I’ve seen already, it turned out to be spectacular! Watch this space for the full feature coming soon on www.brideclubme.com.
Something’s about to POP
When I get excited about something, I go a little crazy, so on hearing about a brand new company launching in Dubai that will provide gourmet popcorn in more than 50 different flavors, the creative in me went into overdrive. You see, Sunny’s POP is the brainchild of my dear friend Sunny Landeros, originally from Texas, who was once a renowned wedding planner in the US. Sunny and I are in sync when it comes to brainstorming innovative ideas and ways to use popcorn at weddings and events.
I immediately wanted to invite our Bride Club ME wedding planner vendors to her popcorn boutique in the Green Community and set about organising a private event, tasting session and factory tour for the lucky planners. Sunny welcomed the wedding planners into her pretty shop and factory, and started by showcasing ways in which the planners can use popcorn at weddings and parties, from giving them away as edible favours to using plain popcorn as confetti.
The planners left with lots of ‘food’ for thought and a hamper full of popcorn! My personal favourite is the white chocolate and Oreo-flavoured popcorn! We will be bringing you more on Sunny’s POP later this month, so watch this space!
That’s all for now, but I will be back at the end of April with another round up. This month is set to be a busy one with BRIDE Dubai having just finished and lots of other exciting events, including our ‘workshop’ event collaboration with organisers Mylist.ae, along with Tavola, Little Miss Cup Cakes and Fabulous Day Weddings & Events. More on that coming soon on www.brideclubme.com.
