This week we have the privilege of showcasing Susanna Wordsworth, Owner and designer at  ‘Susanna Rachel Bridal Couture’. Susanna provides us with exclusive insight into the company, their bridal gowns & wedding attires, and shares with us what she loves most about her job.

• How long has ‘ Susanna Rachel Bridal Couture’ been established and what makes your bridal couture different?

The company started in Beverley in the UK in 2008, before moving the business to Dubai in 2011. As a graduate from the British fashion industry Susanna Rachel brings European flair and style to the UAE market.

• What do you love most about your work?

My favourite part of my job is meeting and working with brides to be from all corners of the globe, and being inspired by their different cultures and vision of what makes their perfect bridal gown.

• Do you have any excit­ing business plans in the pipe line for ‘Susanna Rachel Bridal Couture’?

In 2014 I plan to launch a Susanna Rachel ‘off the peg collection’ as well as continuing my bespoke gowns.

• Describe the experience and privileges a bride to-be will have when choosing to have their wedding dress designed by ‘Susanna Rachel Bridal Couture’?

What makes a Susanna Rachel gown stand out is that each bride to be is part of the process every step of the way. From selecting fabrics, lace and embellishment to influencing my designs with their personal vision of their perfect dress. Every bride gets married in a Susanna Rachel gown they helped bring to life.

• In your opinion, what are this years trends in regards to bridal attire?

Lace seems to be an extremely popular choice, with many brides choosing to opt for more interesting neck lines, rather than the usual strapless sweetheart. I think brides are starting to be more adventurous and I encourage them to express their personal styles through my designs.

• Which designers inspire you the most?

In the world of bridal I’m a huge fan of Monique Lhuillier, her designs are so romantic and feminine . I also love Claire Pettibone and how she produces the most amazing necklines and intricate backs, which are simply stunning. Designer Jenny Packham is someone who has inspired me not only in bridal but through her exquisite evening collections.

•  If you could give one piece of advice to expat brides to-be, what would it be?

Remember that this will be the most special day of your life. Never settle for a dress, strive for perfection, remember what inspires you and what makes you happy, after all its you that will be in all the pictures.

• Lastly, why did you choose to list with www.brideclubme.com?

After meeting with Rhiannon and seeing her enthusiasm and vision for the bridal industry UAE, I knew that we shared similar values and passion. The website is extremely easy to use and I love how interactive it is.
