A Catch Up With Pink Pepper Photography
Back in April, BCME’s Assistant Editor Rachael visited our super talented vendors, Pink Pepper Photography at their new studio on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Whilst she was there, Rachael met with Pink Pepper’s Business Development Manager, Laura Churchill, who gave her a guided tour of the new studio, which is within the exclusive Tryano department store at Yas Mall. Read on for Rachael’s impressions of the studio, an interview with Laura, and an exclusive video of the launch, which also features our very own DJ Sister Rock!
It’s rare that I’ll venture to Abu Dhabi; the thought of driving on the E11 terrifies me, and I’m also easily confused when trying to navigate around unfamiliar cities. I was therefore relieved when I discovered that the new Pink Pepper Studio is conveniently located in Yas Mall on Yas Island, a mere stone’s throw from Dubai and super easy to get to.
As part of the new Tryano department store, parking is not an issue. There’s a dedicated parking area for Tryano customers, complete with its own unique entrance into the mall, which, trust me, is unlike any mall experience I have ever had! Calming, light and invigorating, I can imagine that any couple visiting Pink Pepper’s studio for a photo session would instantly be put at ease.
The studio itself is situated towards the back of the Tryano store, next to the most exquisite café that serves some sumptuous looking desserts – definitely a treat for after your shoot! Once again, the studio area is clean, bright and airy, and I was really impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable receptionists at the front desk.
Laura gave me a guided tour, which included a private ‘viewing room’ complete with comfy sofas and a television, in which people can see their shoots and videos for the first time. The studio itself was impressive, with state of the art equipment and lighting, as well as various different props and backdrops suitable for a wide range of shoots. In the main area, examples of Pink Pepper’s work adorn the walls, and wedding photography albums are on display for potential clients to peruse at their leisure.
I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Laura and hearing all about Pink Pepper’s exciting plans for the future…in fact, I felt so relaxed and at ease, that I was reluctant to go back out into ‘the real world’!
To find out more, have a look at the interview, images and video below…
Thank you so much for taking the time to show me around the new studio, Laura! Please tell us why Pink Pepper have decided to expand further…
We have always wanted to reach out more to the Abu Dhabi market, so when the opportunity arose to partner with Chalhoub in their new luxury store Tryano, we just couldn’t resist!
It really does feel magical, entering the studio via the stunning Tryano store. What can clients expect as they walk from the parking lot to the studio itself?
Clients will automatically feel special and as if they are walking into another world, with the beautiful sweet scented aroma and gorgeous bright, light filled decorations.
I particularly loved the viewing room! Please tell us what the vision was behind this and how you’ve made it such a comfortable, interactive environment…
We want our clients to feel very relaxed in our lounge when they come back to the studio to view their images, as this is a very special and intimate moment. This part of the experience can bring joyous laughter and emotional tears when people see their beautiful images for the first time.
The studio itself – where the magic happens – was also pretty impressive. Why might an engaged couple opt for a photo shoot in a studio, rather than on location?
The studio experience is very popular amongst engaged couples, as this style of photography creates extremely professional results. With the use of our high quality lights, equipment, props and backdrops, couples have many more options when choosing their slide show. Every photographer at Pink Pepper has their own unique style; however, they also have the fantastic talent needed to adapt their artistic flair to suit the needs and requirements of each couples’ taste.
Having said that, you do also cater for location shoots. What are some of your favourites?
Personally, I absolutely love a beach sunset shoot. The results are guaranteed to be incredible. We are so lucky here in the UAE to have this opportunity every single day. The couple will always feel playful and the colours from the sea, sky and sun are the perfect ingredients for outstanding photography.
When it comes to receiving the finished images, Pink Pepper ensures quality above all else. Please tell us about the editing process and how the final photographs can be presented…
Many people think that there is a magic button which we press and voila…..Well…we actually have an incredible creative team who work endlessly on each and every inch of a photograph. They can spend days zooming in and out retouching, airbrushing, cropping, colour changing and so much more behind the scenes. This is where the real magic happens.
And how about videography? Is this something that Pink Pepper offers?
I must say that our videography team are out of this world! Their ideas and creativity are amazing and they always capture and bring to life the wonderful moments of that special day. They have the ability to seal in a bottle the enchanting magical feelings of a wedding day, then release it every time you watch the video. We love our Pink Pepper commercial/trailer style video clips that our clients can post on social media for the whole family to see and remember that beautiful day.
We talked a lot about how Pink Pepper values collaboration with other companies. Which companies have you partnered with and how does this enhance the customers’ experience and overall value for money?
We have so many partners throughout the UAE. However, we are very careful in selecting our partners as they must fit certain criteria. We tend to partner with companies who share the same market segment. They love the collaboration as it brings so much value and benefits to their company and vice versa. We provide our partners with complimentary gifts for their clients. Many of our partners will then use the client’s photographs to compliment a product.
