Planning a wedding in Dubai usually takes months, sometimes even a year or more. But for Persian bride Ryhaneh and her Indian groom, their multicultural Dubai wedding came together in just 24 hours, proving what can be achieved with an experienced wedding team, quick decision-making and a little bit of wedding magic.
A Persian bride, an Indian groom, 150 guests and two beautiful cultural ceremonies, all brought together at Raffles The Palm Dubai with barely any time to spare.
Originally intended to be an intimate celebration for just 15 guests, the wedding quickly evolved when VIP guests travelled from India to Dubai to join the celebrations. What followed was an extraordinary last-minute wedding transformation.
From 15 Guests to a 150-Guest Dubai Wedding
With just three days remaining until the wedding on 7th September, the couple found themselves facing every soon-to-be-wed couple’s nightmare: things simply weren’t coming together as planned.
After experiencing communication difficulties with their previous wedding planner, they were referred to Lilis Events through a friend. There was no time to waste.
The couple met with the Lilis Events team at Raffles The Palm Dubai, where they walked through the venue and met directly with the hotel’s chefs, just two days before the wedding. Once the agreement was signed, the countdown really began.
The team had approximately 24 hours to bring an entire 150-person wedding celebration together, including the menu, catering, wedding design, décor, production and entertainment. No pressure, then!
Two Cultures, One Beautiful Wedding Celebration
Despite the incredibly tight turnaround, it was important that the wedding wasn’t simply organised in time. It also needed to feel personal to the couple and authentically represent both sides of their families. The result was a beautiful fusion of Persian and Indian wedding traditions.
The Persian side of the celebration featured a traditional Sofreh Aghd, an elaborate ceremonial spread incorporating symbolic elements representing love, prosperity and happiness within the marriage.
This was complemented by a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, honouring the groom’s Indian heritage and bringing another beautiful layer of tradition to the day.
Bringing the two ceremonies together created a celebration that honoured both cultures without either losing its individual identity, something we always love to see at multicultural weddings in Dubai.
Persian Dancing Meets Bollywood Entertainment
The cultural fusion continued into the wedding entertainment. Guests were treated to Persian dance performances alongside energetic Bollywood entertainment, creating an atmosphere that reflected the couple’s backgrounds and the coming together of their families and communities.
With 150 guests attending, including a number of distinguished VIPs who had travelled from India, privacy was also an important consideration throughout the celebration.
For this reason, photographs and videos featuring the VIP guests will remain private, a reminder that discretion can be just as important as beautiful styling when planning high-profile and luxury weddings in Dubai.
Can You Really Plan a Wedding in Dubai in 24 Hours?
This wedding might make it look possible, but behind a 24-hour wedding turnaround is a huge amount of experience, industry knowledge and teamwork. With virtually no margin for error, suppliers, venue teams, chefs, production crews, entertainers and wedding planners all need to work seamlessly together. There’s also very little time for indecision.
For Lilis Events, the challenge was not simply to deliver a wedding within the timeframe, but to create a celebration that still felt considered, elegant and personal. As the team explains:
Even under the most challenging timelines, experience, teamwork and meticulous execution can turn a last-minute wedding into a truly memorable celebration.
And this wedding certainly put that philosophy to the test.

A Last-Minute Multicultural Dubai Wedding to Remember
Three days before the wedding, the couple were searching for a new planner. Two days before, they were walking through Raffles The Palm Dubai and meeting the chefs. And within approximately 24 hours, the details of a 150-guest Persian-Indian wedding had been pulled together.
From the Sofreh Aghd and Hindu wedding ceremony to Persian dancing, Bollywood entertainment, catering, décor and production, this Dubai wedding was a true celebration of two cultures coming together.
It’s also a brilliant example of just how important an experienced wedding planner and trusted supplier network can be, particularly when the unexpected happens. Because sometimes, you don’t need months to create something memorable. Sometimes, you just need the right people, and 24 hours, although we don’t recommend it! He-he.
