DIY Moustache and Lips for Wedding Photo Props
There is a huge market out there for these props. We say why not make them yourself, if you can? Our lovely expert panel member, radio presenter and founder of www.cheapnchic.net, Simone Heng, has some of the best DIY projects around. This one is no exception.
Now let’s pass you over to Simone for a step-by-step guide on how to DIY these small but effective props.
‘Hello Bride Club ME readers, I am delighted to bring you my second contribution to the Bride Club ME website and hope you find it useful. These props will add some fun to your wedding reception photos and encourage guests to get in on the action.’
What you will need:
- Glue gun
- Felt
- Wooden skewers or sticks
- Fabric scissors
- Sewing pins
- Template of moustache and lips.
Step 1: Download templates
I bought the book ‘Papercraft’ ages ago and they have a free downloadable template for the moustaches, you can find it here.
For the lip templates, I created these by trial and error. Make sure you make the lips bigger than the size of your mouth. They look best when posed with your mouth pursed.
Step 2: Cut out the templates and pin them onto the felt. You need to cut 2 copies of each shape for each side of the stick.
Step 3: Glue the felt moustache or lips to the top of the stick and stick the copy to the other side with the stick sandwiched in the middle.
Step 4: You have your finished props. I made lips and moustaches so ladies and men can switch and have fun with them.
