An Emotional Real Wedding At The Park Hyatt Dubai
This real wedding is full of emotion and expression, so much so that it captured our hearts as soon as we set eyes on the happy couple. Brought to you by photographer Christophe Viseux, the wedding has plenty of life, happiness and energy, all perfectly captured on camera.
Farah and Basil were married in December 2017 at Dubai’s Park Hyatt Hotel. Basil, who is originally Lebanese, but was born and raised in Texas, and Farah, who is also originally Lebanese, but was born and raised in Dubai, met at a wedding in Lebanon in the summer of 2016. In Farah’s words:
We had such a strong connection and you can say we both knew that this was it. A year later Basil proposed and the year after that we celebrated our wedding in Dubai!
We also love the rather grand set up at the Park Hyatt, with the couple making use of candles, fairy lights and flowers (including gorgeous blooms cascading over the dance floor). The wedding took place outdoors, but inspiration for an indoor, ballroom affair can also be found here! And don’t get us started on that staircase…
Below, Christophe tells us all about working with the couple and other members of the wedding industry, not only to ensure that Farah and Basil had the perfect day but also to capture these memories for them to look back on for years to come. Enjoy!
A Note From The Photographer
Farah and Basil were one of my easiest couples to work with. It actually all started during our first meeting with Farah and her Mum a few weeks before the wedding. I usually bring my demo album for meetings as I think it’s an asset to show a printed piece of work. After Farah flipped through the second page of the album, we knew we had a match. She was looking for a documentary approach to capture the essence of her wedding day. Emotions and spontaneous reactions were the most important for her.
We had another meeting a few days before the wedding with Basil and the wedding planner for the final coordination. We all felt the same way about the wedding, so from that point, we were assured that everything would go flawlessly. Farah and Basil gave us their full support and encouraged us to get creative shots.
As a photographer, I believe it’s mandatory to develop such connections with ‘our’ couples in order to go the extra mile. We want to get intimate and emotionally connected.
Nizar from Monte Carlo Events did an amazing job with the wedding decor at the Park Hyatt Dubai. As expected in a Lebanese wedding, the party was intense with a great energy. It remains an excellent memory for me.
