Take A Look Inside Harry And Meghan’s Wedding Chapel At Windsor Castle
It’s only a matter of weeks now until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot in St George’s Chapel, set in the grounds of Windsor Castle. As final wedding preparations get underway, we can’t wait to see what this royal wedding has in store.
Windsor Castle has been home to British Kings and Queens for over 1,000 years and is the burial site for Henry VIII; however, there hasn’t been a Royal wedding held in the chapel since May 2008 when Peter Phillips, son of The Princess Royal, married Autumn Kelly. Harry and Meghan’s ceremony, which takes place on Saturday, 19th May at 12 pm (UK time), is set to include two wedding receptions and a carriage procession as well as the service. Watch the video below for a glimpse of the chapel at Windsor Castle, thanks to CNN.
The traditional ceremony will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, while the Archbishop of Canterbury will officiate as the couple makes their marriage vows. This modern royal couple has actually broken tradition by choosing to hold their wedding on a Saturday when royal weddings have notoriously always taken place during the week. The wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was held on a Friday and the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Princess Diana was held on a Wednesday.
Like most weddings, the major speculation revolves around the wedding dress; we all wonder what kind of bride Meghan will be. Following in the footsteps of her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Meghan will reportedly wear two gowns – one to the ceremony, and one to the reception. In the lead up to the wedding, designers including Erdem, Roland Mouret, Inbal Dror, Jenny Packham and Alexander McQueen have all been mentioned as possible choices. One thing is for sure though, once Meghan reaches her prince at the end of that long, historic aisle, with the uttering of two simple words, ‘I will’, this American actress will officially become British royalty.
