Honeymoon in Switzerland
Brides in Dubai are spoilt. There are a bunch of white beaches within a couple of hours flying time, and more resorts than you can resort to in a single lifetime. But what if you don’t just want to beach it?
There is nothing more romantic than a blazing log fire and a cup of creamy hot chocolate followed by delicious Swiss food. And the Alps are a great place if you fancy going on the piste. Visit in summer and let the grass meadows seduce your senses, the melodic sound of cowbells will take your breath away. And in winter the whole country turns into a glittering white wonderland of deep powdery snow. What better place to celebrate your love?
Start off by visiting Geneva. Stay in La Reserve Hotel. Let the gentle breeze from the lake play on your face as you plan a day in the most sophisticated city in the world, where French Italian and German culture blend together in a heady mix of shopping and dining.
Then head for the slopes, and here you are really spoilt for choice. Names like Verbier, St Moritz, Wengen and Zermatt will entice you into a jet set world where the glitterati ski during the day and congregate during the nightlife. The British Royal family love Verbier, Prince Harry is currently jetting down the slopes there.
Try to stay in the beautiful Chalet d’Adrien, a beautifully furnished low-rise 29-room chalet, with top-notch cooking in a peaceful setting. It’s next to the Savoleyres lift, and offers great views as well as a lovely spa, gym and pool to help you enjoy your honeymoon even more.
After the ski part why not go and shop for watches in the glittering city of Zurich, banking capital of the world? Say in the ALDEN Hotel Splgenschloss, the smallest and most intimate 5-Star-Boutique Hotel in Zurich.
When you’re ready, visit the railway. No, really, there are over 145 stores clustered around the station and you can spend a lovely day just being together as you eat and shop to your heart’s content.
Switzerland is a popular destination for Dubai residents and if you are one of the lucky population that arrives by private jet you will find a sophisticated playground of the worldly and wealthy. Even if you are not on the same budget as a small country you can have the honeymoon of a lifetime.
