A Bridal Bright Smile |‘My Dental Clinic’ Dubai
If you follow my personal blog over at www.expatbride.com, you will know that I have had some major problems with my gnashers. From dealing with dodgy dentists, to excruciating wisdom tooth pain, to one of my teeth actually falling out, it’s not only been distressing for me, it’s also been incredibly painful and costly. I have no idea why I have all these issues, as I brush my teeth regularly and take care of myself in that department, but have been told it could be genetic or the result of some bad dentistry in the past. I haven’t had the best experiences with dentists in Dubai if I’m honest.
I still have a lot of work to be done on my teeth and was on the lookout for a good, reliable dentist, when I got an email from the newly opened My Dental Clinic, who have over 39 years’ worth of international experience. Coming highly recommended by my fellow wedding buddy, photographer Maria Sundin, I went along to meet the My Dental Clinic team and experience their scale and polish service. While I was there, I also had a thorough check up with Dr. Eva Gorton.
Before my wedding day, I considered whitening my teeth, but instead, opted for a good scale and polish.
Before my wedding day, I considered whitening my teeth, but instead, opted for a scale and polish. For brides wary of the whitening treatment, a scale and polish is the perfect alternative, but I will let you know how I get on with some other dental services at a later date.
After that visit, it became clear how much consistent dental care influences both comfort and confidence. Clean, well-cared-for teeth feel lighter, fresher, and noticeably healthier, which naturally reflects in everyday interactions. A good cleaning supports gum health, reduces irritation, and helps maintain a smile that feels dependable rather than fragile.
It also highlighted the importance of being prepared when dental concerns arise without warning. Tooth pain or damage has a way of appearing at the worst possible time, and quick professional attention can prevent a minor issue from becoming a bigger problem. Having access to an emergency dentist in austin offers reassurance, ensuring that help is available when timing is less than ideal.
In the long run, dental health is built on steady habits and professional guidance. Regular checkups and cleanings may seem routine, but they preserve strength, comfort, and peace of mind. It’s a traditional approach that still holds true: care for your teeth early and consistently, and they will continue to support you through every milestone ahead.
The Dental Clinic
Being a clinic run by Scandinavians, I had an inkling that the interiors would not disappoint. Swedes are known for their minimalist, fresh sense of style and ‘My Dental Clinic’ very much had that vibe. Clean, bright and airy, with pops of cheerful orange in all the right places. The clinic has chosen the most advanced equipment from KaVo, Gendex USA, BioLase to DentalArt and you can clearly see that they have not cut back on expenses when purchasing the very best in high tech equipment. For their clients’ comfort and relaxation, the clinic has also installed ceiling lights with play of color, as well as a music system that enables you to listen to any music of your choice. Nice touch!
The Consultation
I met with the clinic’s co-founder and highly experienced dentist Dr. Eva Gorton for my initial consultation regarding my oral status; for health and cosmetic purposes. Dr. Eva gave me a thorough examination and a 360 degree x-ray using the Panoramic X-Ray machine. Once all x-rays were complete and the examination done, I received a full breakdown of the urgent treatments needed, such as fillings, along with some suggestions on cosmetic improvement.
The Scale & Polish
After my consultation with Dr.Eva, I then met with oral hygienist Sarah-Jayne, originally from Scotland. Sarah who had been working as an oral hygienist for over 7 years, gave me a basic periodontal examination and oral hygiene evaluation, followed by a full mouth scale and polish. Included in this procedure was the use of air flow which is known to be the most effective method of superficial stain removal. Fluoride application was then applied to promote remineralisation and whitening.
I have had similar treatments before in Dubai, but Sarah was by far the most gentle and precise when working on my teeth.
I have had similar treatments before in Dubai, but Sarah was by far the most gentle and precise when working on my teeth. Having a scale and polish is always a little messy, but I experienced little discomfort during the process and Sarah was great at informing me as to what was happening during the whole process. We also had a good natter afterwards about life in Dubai, he-he.
The Result
I was delighted with the end result of my consultation, scale and polish. I left My Dental Clinic with a full and detailed breakdown of work needed on my teeth, including costs, fresh and sparkling clean teeth, having all been administered in a stylish and comforting environment, by experienced and friendly staff. For brides to-be looking for a good dentist for a thorough clean and checkup before the big day, I highly recommend “My Dubai Dentist”.
I will be back with updates on the rest of my dental work, including dreaded fillings and a new procedure to straighten my bottom set of teeth. Arghhh!
