Fly Me To The Moon: A Travel-Themed Wedding By Dot The I’s Events
We love it when we get to feature super pretty weddings that are based around a theme, and today’s wedding is another example of just that. Janan and Zaid celebrated their wedding in September 2015 at the JW Marriott Marquis with help from wedding planners Dot the I’s Events.
Their theme was ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ and was based around the idea of travel; one of the main passions of our Bride and Groom. We love the cute details that the couple incorporated into their special day, particularly the ceiling décor, which came in the form of hot air balloons! The dramatic floral displays in hues of pink and purple added a sumptuous feel, and once again it is proven that indoor weddings during the Dubai summer can be just as stunning as those outdoors in the cooler months.
Below, Yasmine Albanna from Dot The I’s talks us through how she planned this wedding with the help of the Groom’s Mother, and we also hear from bride Janan, who tells us how delighted she was with the final result. Enjoy!
A Note From The Wedding Planner
I got to know the couple through the groom’s mother who attended a previous wedding I planned and kept me as a reference for her son’s wedding. I usually work directly with the bride and groom, but as the bride lived abroad, on this occasion my direct communication was with the mother of the groom, although I was introduced to both the bride and groom as well.
I have to admit that this was one of the very few times that I had to work with the mother of the groom, but the entire process was pleasantly smooth. The bride, groom and the mother-in-law were super flexible and open to new ideas. The wedding took place inside a ballroom, and all agreed to create ‘an outdoor wedding indoors’ to reflect the couple’s love of traveling and outdoor activities. The end result turned out to be just marvelous!
To cut a long story short, it was an outstanding wedding because of how perfect and smooth the preplanning process went and how easily the flow of the actual wedding turned out. I would like to thank both the bride and groom and their families, for helping to make such a day special for their loved ones and for us as wedding planners.
The Bride’s Testimonial
My husband and I had an adventure/travel vision and theme in mind. We talked to our wedding planner about our interests and hobbies, as well as giving ideas about colours and sharing photos of things/decorations we liked. Yasmine was so helpful in taking all our photos and ideas and transferring them into our “Fly Me To The Moon” fairytale wedding. My mother-in-law was the person mostly involved in the wedding planning process since I used to live in the US and had to communicate with the wedding planner and my mother-in-law through Skype.
No words can give justice to the way I felt when I saw how all of our ideas had come together on our wedding day. Everything was more than I expected and asked for. The colours, centerpieces, flowers, and, most of all, the hanging hot air balloons, were breathtaking.
Until this day, a year and a half later, I still have friends and family members expressing how beautiful my wedding was and that it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to.
