Esposa’s Tribute to Our Mothers

Prepare to get all teary eyed as we share with you this video by BCME vendor and bridal boutique Esposa. Filmed in time for Arabic Mother’s Day, which was on 21^st March, you may have seen this short clip on social media over the past few days.

The concept was simple, but clever and oh so effective. Using hidden cameras in their Al Wasl Road boutique, Esposa captured the initial reactions of mothers, who were wedding dress shopping with their daughter, as they caught a glimpse of her in a wedding dress for the very first time. We think that the change in the mothers’ expressions is particularly poignant, going from flicking through a magazine or anxiously waiting, to crying tears of joy, pride, excitement and love.

Esposa made the video as a way of honouring all mothers around the world, who spend their time making sacrifices and guiding us through life until we fall in love and transition into a new era of being a wife, and possibly one day a mother, ourselves. Watching her daughter get married is surely one of the most emotional events of a mother’s life, and it is clearly reflected here in the tears and smiles that dominate the video. Living in such a multicultural environment where we are often miles away from our own mothers, the video serves to remind us of their very important role in our own wedding day, even if they are not physically by our side throughout the entire planning process. The theme of the video, “In your eyes, I see the best of me” could not be more apparent, and we’re sure it resonates with women all over the world, regardless of age, nationality or status.
